    Nothing to get excited about...

Yeah we pumped Richmond but so what. Should of been by a hell of a lot more IMHO. To be ten plus goals up at half time and not go on with it against opposition like Richmond is fairly poor. Look how Collingwood kept the foot on the pedal agenst the Wee girls....

That's the sort of footy we need to play....

We were OK. But Richmond were just god awful....

Well, we could have lost against them - or had a draw like the Dogs did . . .

Yep, given their form in the last month, I reckon the flogging was unexpected by most.

Totally Agree. Tigers have been competitive over the season so i expected a tough close match. Happy with a win and NO INJURIES.

I'd take that over a 100 + point win but having Kennelly do his knee last minute of the game.

Richmond were in the game for about 10 mins... The first ten. Then they never looked like getting in it.

They may have had a bit of form coming into the game, but they WERE god awful yesterday.

It looked like Balmain had donned their old strip and strutted out their current tip. An awful game to watch.

I thought it was very much a case of Richmond being awful more than Sydney being particuarly brilliant.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Agree Richmond were very poor, and I don't think the Swans were as good as Roos has assessed them to be. Last week's scrapping win was more significant in my eyes. But still there are things to get excited about.

Like how the team is continuing to spread the goal kicking load around.

Like how Malceski is slowing finding his way back. His kicking yesterday was 100% better than the week before and I don't think we have to wait much longer before the bullets start hitting the chests of our forwards.

Like how Kennelly was excellent all day - didn't look like he'd missed a beat. I don't think he ever got above cruising speed.

Lie how Jolly soundly beat a quality opponent, and Everitt is starting to look like he'll make some kind of valuable contribution this year.

Like how Amon suddenly seems to have learned to kick straight.

Our midfield coped well with the speed of the Tigers'. I thought this might find us out. Although they (the Tigers) were there own worst enemy, I still reckon our guys must be credited for not letting the speedsters run.

I'm disappointed that the swannies didn't keep the pedal up in the second half.

Up until those last couple of goals at the end, the tiggers were winning "the half".

The swannies could (read: should) have beaten them by 150+.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I agree. Disposal efficiency is still a bit poor, which is still a problem against better sides. Nevertheless there are still really good signs there for both this year and most particularly future years. The half back run is giving us more attacking options like 2003. We still need to find ways to kick more goals against better sides though.

I think the very good running game and team performance just overwhelmed what had been a much improved Richmond.

I woundn't discount this win one bit. Sydney's pressure forced dozens of clangers. The Tigers aren't brilliant but they were on the "up" and they nearly went to half time goal-less.

Here's the main reason the win looked so easy:

Tiger - Fantastic, even his defensive spoils were a notch up, great run
Marty - 2 sensational games in a row, great run, nearly BOG
Mal - Confidence still a bit down, but completes the dream rebound team

Had being the key word... Thy HAD been good. Yesterday they were just terrible. Couldn't kick, pass or mark to save themselves.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving that back line ..... But excepting the mark by Richo in the goal square late in the last quarter, their fwd line didn't even see the ball....

Each of our players simply beat their opponent.

What I noticed yesterday, was our run.
We were playing just wide of the centre square. Players were sprinting, drawing a player, and handpassing to another player running from the centre to keep the run going. They sometimes did this three or four times, creating their own space and not allowing the ball to slow.

The player would run behind their opponent, run diagonally across the contest to get the ball. We did this over and over again. Obviously a drill they have been working on.

Nothing wrong with the win - Richmond were never in the game - Swans did a great job all day, so I wouldn't complain about the margin.

We did win every quarter (I'd take that any day of the week).

Richmond's objective for the third and final term would very simply have been to win the quarter. To stop them from doing that, when the game was already won, was a fair effort. The Swans played well and are in good form.

Having said all that we haven't beaten anyone of real note yet this year (perhaps Brisbane), and we didn't beat Geelong, WB, or NM. If we managed to get over the Hawks or Collingwood, then I might get excited.

I would hate to think we would get ahead of ourselves after only a couple of good wins. Remember what happened last year after we smashed the Hawks (that high didn't last long).

Also, West Coast at Subiaco is a tough assignment whatever the circumstances (just ask the Crows).
