Media Player Classic is another free download. You don't even have to install it, it just runs from the .exe you download.

I found a free mp4 coverter last night (trust me, they are hard to find). If you convert it to an avi or mpeg you can watch it or even burn it and watch it on your tele.

PM me if you want a link to the program. Don't have it with me so I could send it tonight.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

        Was it Mediacoder?
I can convert it to MPEG2, the DVD format, but how do I create the IFO and VOB files required to burn to DVD?

Something is wrong with the files. On Windows its unplayable with Quicktime. On Linux mplayer and totem can play it, but it will crash every 20 minutes or so.

Even though it mp4, i couldnt get it to transfer to my ipod. Am I the only one who thinks itunes is hard to use !?

I think there is an avi version on that site, which might be better.

Unfortunately mpeg4 has many options of increasing complexity (and quality/efficiency) which where the incompatibilities arise. For hardware players only the newer (more expensive) devices have the chipsets that can handle the more advanced mpeg4 options.

Apple uses a proprietary set of mpeg4 options in its mov files. Nero Digital is another proprietary set.

T ocreat the vob file, you need to download a program called convertxtodvd. It's a good program and will burn you a DVD automatically after conversion is complete.

The mp4 converter I use if the free verion of Any Video Converter. It's actually quite good and easy to use and there is a free version.

Any Video Converter convert any video to iPod, MPEG, video to MP4, video to Zune, video to iPhone. AVI to MPG, avi to MPEG

                  Good luck
