    When was the last time....

... we had 4 wins of 10 goals + in the first half of a season, or an entire season for that matter??

... we won 8.5 games out of the first 12?

The answer to the first question is never. The previous most wins of more than 10 goals half way through the season was 1987, with 3. A special note however was that in 1985; as of Round 13 Sydney had scored 4 wins of 10 goals or more.

The answer to the second question is easy. In 1996 the Swans were exactly 7-3-1 at the mid way stage, but their % wasn't as great as this year. In 1986however they were 9-2 at the mid way stage.

              Thanks T40.

I can't believe the answer is "never". I would've thought it had been done before.

              1996 eh. Sounds promising!!

I forgot to mention that the best overall season record for the Swans winning by 10 goals or more.

In 1987 the Swans won 6 games by 10 goals or more, and a 7th by 59 points, (effectively just about 10 goals). Those 7 games were:

                Margin
                163 36.20 (236) vs Essendon 11.7 (73) SCG R17
                130 30.21 (201) vs West Coast 10.11 (71) SCG R16
                108 27.25 (187) vs Footscray 11.13 (79) SCG R2
                91 31.12 (198) vs Richmond 15.17(107) SCG R18
                91 25.15 (165) vs Collingwood 11.8 (74) VP R1
                73 19.23 (137) vs Bris Bears 9.10 (64) Car R11
                59 20.14 (134) vs St Kilda 11.9 (75) SCG R13

Particularly, those three games between Rounds 16 and 18 are still talked about more than 2 decades later.

They also won 5 games by 10 goals or more in 1909, 1934 and 1985.

Not bad for a side that plays "boring" football.
