    Teddy in the centre?

OK, I noticed watching the game today that Ted Richards spent a small amount of time in the midfield. I assume he was following his opponent there (I forget who it was at the time, Bate maybe?), but I noticed he got his hands on the ball a few times, and got one really fantastic clearance in heavy congestion. Now, I'm not by any means suggesting that Richards should become a midfielder. He has been fantastic for us as a loose man in defence and double-teamer, and solid as a man-on-man key backman when needed. But, if at some stage we find either our midfield has become stagnant, or Teddy is having a shocker, perhaps rotating him through the midfield in short bursts might be a good way of shaking things up? It would be completely unexpected from an opposition coach's point of view, and I think he would be competent, at least in short bursts.

Firstly, does anybody know whether Richards was actually following his man into the midfield, or if it was a deliberate ploy on Roos' part? And secondly, what do you think about it?

Actually, now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I may have seen Richards rotated through the midfield briefly another time. I can't remember who against though....
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!
