I don't think Henry is giving us much at all. He was OK yesterday but that was against a very young Melbourne backline. I think he'll get exposed against the good sides.

I dont rate Playfair as well. Not for a lack of effort, Im just not sure he is good enough. But saying that he is doing ok- just doesnt really seem like a strong enough mark or a good enough goal threat to justify his place in the team.

He looks the same as he did at Geelong. Presents well, marks pretty well, and works hard, but his kicking is rubbish. Was a major factor in preventing him from becoming a key forward at Geelong.

He's slow and awkward too in my opinion.

I don't know how you can have a forward that kicks like he does. Will cost us matches.

            a good honest tryer
but it says a lot about where someone with nick davis skills and abilities is rated by the match committee at the moment. Theres no way playfair is a better play than him

i dont think playfair does enough to keep his spot, but he has actually been better than i expected
Theres not much left to say

Spot on Plugger, the only thing he adds to the side is his size which IMO is not enough.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I agree with P46, whilst he's done OK, leads and marks well, he's still a very ordinary kick.

I think the jury is still out on his worth to the team, IMO.

But, he is still averaging a goal a game.

I still have more faith in him kicking for goal than I do when it's ROK with a set shot.

Yeah ROK has a bit of the yips at the moment but you could toss a coin for either of them to kick it from set shots

I thought this might end up a thread of its own over the weekend because I posed the same question to myself on Sunday afternoon and I didn't have any sensible answers thanks to another glass of wine.

Anyhoo, the Henry roamed Half Forward very well bobbing up and taking some really good grabs and leading well too.

Nick is a much more valuable kick but in the few games I have seen him play this year and a lot of last, he was just not able to take marks, contested, leading or anything. Then his only option is to successfully rove and he was doing that well either.

So where is Nick Davis? After my first glass of wine, I am still no closer to the answer.

Seems thread has become "Playfair does not exceed expectation"... We really needed some height especially when Hally was out and still do. Some of these teams look like giants (We need 20cm on Leo too)... Playfair has good natural abilities marking, positioning etc. Out of all the required skills kicking would have to be the one that can be practised - learnt. I think he's definately worth perservering with.

Glad it's not just me - watching him in the flesh vs Saints was wholly disheartening. Very slow, with the turning circle of a cliche, and only average skills to support. I know they can't all be Craig Boltons but after Spriggs and Chambers, I think we should be putting an embargo on Cats rejects.

Good call i think. Given our record for getting value from unwanted players from successful teams I think we need more time to form a proper view on Playfair. Not impressive from my view yesterday, but has shown better before. A spell in the 2s is probably due shortly, with a view to working on shortcomings and I am hoping brother Davis can get it together to put the pressure on for the position.
