On another matter, can anyone tell me if the Swans have a clash jumper? I remember a few months back, when all the fuss was going on with Collingwood and Eddie everywhere saying Collingwood was never going to change its jumper and the AFL saying that every team must have a clash jumper, the Herald Sun ran a blogging session with Mike Sheahan, I wrote in asked him is the swans had a clash jumper and what did it look like? he responded with " the swans dont have a clash jumper", since then I have watched most games and have never seen us wear one, but at the same time have heard the AFL say many times that every team must have a clash jumper. I personally think we dont clash with anyone, the closest we come to a clash is with StKilda and even then its not really much of a clash. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with this?

Maybe we need a clash jumper so we actually clash with someone else.Does God believe in Atheists?Comment

I thought we were exempt.
(Well, because we're Sydney and we're protected from everything of course.)Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Officially, our clash strip is the one we have worn during Heritage Round over the past few years.
Of course in practice, we don't need it since we don't clash with anybody but it fulfils the requirement to have one.
Recently, the Herald Sun (namely Mike Sheehan) gave each club's clash strip a score out of 10. The Swans came in equal 1st with the Eagles. The bad ones (pushing my memory) were the Lions (not the Fitzroy one they sometimes wear in Melbourne), Crows, and Hawks. And the man who started it all, the Schneiderman . . . . .Comment

I had a feeling that was the case - that jumper is ideal for a clash strip because it just reverses the dominant colours (i.e. mostly white instead of mostly red) - similar to what Freo, Carlton, Collingwood, Bulldogs have done. We probably could wear it for games against Brisbane at the Gabba, since maroon is fairly close to red... might make it a bit easier to tell the teams apart, though I wouldn't describe it as a particularly bad clash.
Edit: Nick Davis looked pretty good in the TOTC jumper we wore against Collingwood a few years back- just to stay on topic
