Jarred McVeigh on SEN

Not sure if anyone else heard the interview, but Jarred McVeigh was on SEN last night.

He spoke pretty well, and was quizzed by Francis Leach and David Schwarz.

He spoke about the upcoming game with the Pies and that the guys will be ready for them, since they were belted 3 times last year by them.

He said that the squad was given the whole week off to attempt to break the pattern of being flat after the mid season break. Whereas in seasons gone by, they'd still have training sessions in the week off.

He also revealed that the caoching staff asked him to step into a more attacking mindset this year, to help out the players like Goodesy and Rok. And with the introduction of Keiren Jack into the team, McVeigh hasn't been asked to perform any tagging roles to date.

Francis personally believes that Jarred is the most improved player in the AFL this season. He seems to fly inder the radar, but been extremely consistent picking up 20 possessions a game, while also being quite damaging with 16 goals from the midfield.

I thought it was a pretty big wrap for a much maligned swans player, who has shown he well and truly belongs.

It is a lot worse in Brisbane. I was visiting family there last weekend and there doesn't seem to be a speed limit, more of a guideline.

Oh, it's not a philosophy. I LURV to drive fast (there's a 100 page thread somewhere on here all about it).

Me and my big mouth bagged out McHack, and said that if he improved at all from last year, I'd drive to the speed limit.

Nah, he is saw Rebecca Twigley went after a young chrome dome so he thought he would give it a shot too.

I did remember reading a column by Leapin' in one the newspapers pre season liftouts saying

... And we see Jarrad McVeigh as one the guys who will take the next step this season.
He is a really good honest kid and in the past we have entrusted him with mostly run-with roles.He will be released this year and we believe he can be a top-line, offensive midfielder....

has everyone eaten their words over mcveigh? (they probably have, but just to make sure.) he got a whole lot of **** in his first one or two years on rwo, and was just wondering if the doubters had admitted they were wrong.

i was definitely one of them, and hey, i was wrong about him. i thought he shouldve been delisted but now hes a bloody awesome midfielder.

I've just had dinner with Annie Haddad, she said she has put on weight from eating her words about Macca.

I have half eaten my words. I said he would be an average footballer. Now I say he will be a good footballer. I always said though that he'd never be a 'star' and I stick by that.
