    Why we won't win tonight

    1. We tend to suck after a week off.
    2. Collingwood have the wood over us.
    3. No Goodes.
    4. ANZ Stadium.
    5. Ground will be wet.
    6. Didak/Medhurst/Cloke/Davis/Thomas will kick too many goals (if only we had 5 Bevan's we would be ok though)
    7. Malthouse just keeps outcoaching Roos.

I can't believe for the 4th time in a row we are favourites to win.

I so hope every one of the above is wrong and look forward to reading plenty of abuse when I come back.

The abuse would only flow if the quote was slightly different...

We play well at ANZ Stadium.

Aside from that, yeah, pretty much. I changed my tip to the Swans today, but that's tipping with my heart, not my head. Besides which, everybody seems to be tipping the Swans, so even if we lose, lots of people will lose the tip, so it won't be too damaging.

          Carn the Swanies!

Get a table and set yourself up as a psychic at the local markets. My fears before the game as well especially point 7.

Lotto numbers pls for next week.

Try another one against the Hawks.

                1. No one will stop Franklin.

I'm hurting today. I really gave it all to try to jinx Collingwood. I made this post and even bet quite a bit on Collingwood to win.

At one of the club swans functions earlier in the year I asked Roos if he had a plan to beat Collingwood this year. His excellent response was that he hoped we had a plan to beat every team, but what let us down was ball use/turnovers.

I think most of the responsibility for our performance last night goes to Collingwood. They were brilliant. Dale Thomas' first quarter would have been amazing had he kicked straight. Their pressure and discipline to not allow Swans any space was exceptional. And their ability to take good marks all over the ground in one on one contests made a huge difference. Our hurried kicks out of defence would result in opposition marks or stoppages- theirs would result in clean marks.

Anyway, its one game, the next 4 will be telling as to whether we are a good team or just flat track bullies this year.

                  Predictions for next week:

We will win by 18-30 points because:

                  1. We play well (enough) at the MCG.

                  2. It is a day game.

                  3. We have the wood over Hawthorn.

                  4. Goodes will be back.

                  5. Our defence will restrict Franklin and Roughhead to less than 5- 6 goals between them and the Hawks tend to get most of their goals from these two.

This post cheered me up so much, thank you. First decent laugh I have had since the first quarter last night.....I would have laughed at some of Leo's efforts in the goal square but I barrack for us.

No probs, Satch. although, Triple B's version gives it an interesting twist.

In hindsight, you gotta laugh at last night's game. We all here know that's not the way we play and lets hope not to see that garbage again anytime soon.
