Halls best footy is behind him anyway, he has been a great contributor to the success of the club but the club is always bigger than any player and congrats to the Swans for making this stand.

    Cheers

Anyone can call themselves a psychologist. Sure some tertiary qualifications may make you look good.

A psychiatrist is a doctor and is medically trained. A psychiatrist can also prescribe medication. Something a psychologist cannot. There is a big difference. If Hall has mental issues then a proper shrink, ie: psychiatrist, is the best solution. The brain is a chemical engine that often needs tuning. The right medication can balance the chemical composition of the brain. Fact. I'm not saying drugs are the ultimate solution but they are a big step in the right direction. Doesn't mean Hall would be off with the fairies it would just help him focus his attention in the right area.

As Predicted, the tide is turning.
Media has gone from wanting his head on a platter to bagging the Swans for getting it wrong.
Something SOME of us here have known all along.
On TV there has been a lot of discussion as to whether the ban appropriate.
Tony Jones knew all along that the ban was a joke.... Swans hit on Hall too harsh

Roos is coming out basically saying he had no choice.
        And that it total BS.
Get a second opinion for starters.
Listen to your player when he comes out as says the ban is worthless.

What the hell does ?standing down? mean anyway. What a lot of bull. The bloke swung or attempted to push his marker. No-one died. He gave away a few kicks. So did a few others. What about others who kicked straight to the opposition. Want to ?stand them down? too!?!

The whole ?Bloods Code? mumbo-jumbo seriously gives brings the bile up in the back of my neck!

Get the bloke his week off. Fair enough. Those are the stupid tribunal rules.

He is still, however, our most potent forward, so as soon as that?s done, get him back on the park!!!

The hysteria about all this is such a joke. I think back to how the Irish were called all kinds of ?pussies? etc after the last IR fiasco, but the treatment of one punch and one attempted punch by Barry Hall, you?d think he?d committed a crime against humanity!

          P.S. Walls is an idiot.
Agree totally with all of the above.

If it is women trouble causing all of his "issues" and the on-again-off-again arrangement with the longtime women is the main problem - then be adults and make a dedicion - either get your @@@@ together and make a commitment to each other or call it a day and move on - get it resolved one way or the other - its not rocket science!

And the team shrink - well you didnt do your job properly did you ?

I still find the continual "hang em out to dry" thing is dissappointing as far as the club is concerned. Is it really warranted?

You just knew when Seymour was banging on about it on MMM continually that he would be one of a dozen commentators who would make a big deal out of it - and sure enough it has. Wakelin on the other hand needs to go to NIDA and brush up on his acting skills - he would get a F- for that pathetic effort.

If nothing else the Swans should have kept it in-house rather than announce it to the media so early.

Indeed - if its a case of the club has to be seen to be doing something about it then maybe that is why have done what they have done - but to come out on Monday and say one thing then the next day back pedal - makes them look a bit silly. Maybe the AFL/Swans should have a Kevin 07 style of 20/20 summit on the issue.

I so agree with all of this. The tide sure has turned Swans always seem to be damned if they do and damned if they don't. Having said that I agree with a post that says the Swans should have kept this in-house - they are starting to look like a bunch of idiots.

That article from Tony Jones is a disgrace to jounalism.

The issue is not that he missed Wakelin nor that he should not have been rubbed out for this incident alone.

The issue is that Hall continues to deal with problems in a violent uncontrolled manner and the club cannot be sure that he is not likely to do this again if upset while on a footy field.

Halls comments so far actually show how much of a problem he has, when he can't even see for himself the real issue and why the club would react in this way.

The club and Roos have handled this well, making sure firstly that Hall is not put in a position where he can do further damage to his standing in the game and be 100% sure he is fit to take the field at some point in the future, representing the Sydney FC.

That should come as no shock. The guy is a cretin of the highest order with a head that I would love to knock into the next millennium.

That would have lasted about five minutes. No way it wouldnt not have been leaked to the media who would have been all over it. You cant have it both ways, accuse Roos of dishonesty and criticise the club for honest and open disclosure. Some of us actually prefer not to be treated like mushrooms.

But perhaps instead, "Hally will be assessed during his week off" or "We'll be speaking to Hally during his week off about his attitude", and in private speak to Hall about psychological testing.

I honestly don't understand how anyone on the same field as Kirky can play as "wotabout me" as Hally does on many occasions lately. Look he might have a 'too many women' problems ATM, but when you run on in front of 60k to play team sport, you think he'd be able to deal with that, infact it would take his mind right off it.
IMO he doesn't make the 22 at selection on form alone. Perhaps A good old confrontational fashioned spray by the coaches, Mick Malthouse style would do the trick. Ar the Swans coaches just a bit too modern?
