I've said it before, and I'll say it again .... It's astonishing that the club does not have a psychologist on staff.
They would obviously be used now, but also for getting players in the right frame of mind before games etc etc.

    .
Apparently they do, he is the one who will give the ok for Hall to return...

Roos said this in his press conference.

Maybe the shrink will earn his money this time

I think footy clubs are superior to normal work places but I don't think they're like families. They are still businesses after all.

Not sure where you get your info, but the club psychologist is named Grant Brecht, and last time I checked, he still existed. Anyway, he was the one who suggested Hall be dropped indefinitely.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

          That 'revelation' came about here.

          Been discussed many times before.
Glad to see the Swans have a full time psychologist on hand

Big frigging call to drop Hall indefinitely.
And big call for the club to agree.
They have a fairly sizable investment in Hall.

What is more disappointing is some on the comments in this thread and in others.
What happened to the 'bloods' theme and all that?
          Standing by your own.
Even respect for a premiership player.
I don't adhere to all that stuff so much, but I certainly am willing to cut Hall a bit of slack.
Two errant 'waves of the arm' and he hung drawn and quartered.

Renegotiate his contract with a violent outburst clause etc and he'll be on his best behavior for sure.

Even in the worst case scenario, he stuffed up.
          BFD, he's human.
I sure as hell he's back ASAP and playing well.

This is an interesting quote from Hall, this is how I saw it and have been a little surprised by th way the media, and some on this forum have blown it out of all proportion. It was clumsy, but it never looked (to me at least) like he was trying to actually punch Wakelin.

I agree to me watching on TV it didnt looke like he was trying to hit him.
Hall, for the second time in four matches, took a wild swing at an opponent at the weekend - Collingwood's Shane Wakelin.

After the punishment he and the rest of the leadership group dished out to Nick Davis in 2006 for speaking out in the media, you'd have thought Hall would have had the sense to keep his mouth shut!

"To be honest, I don't think that's the answer, to not play football, I don't know if that's going to help, that's my only query. I can understand from the club's point of view they are looking to do the right thing, but I don't think missing games is going to help the situation.

"What I am concerned about is how all this, the incident and being stood down like this, now effects my future and standing in footy."

I reckon his appointments with the physchologist will be as effective as Sam Newman's appointments with his counsellor. I reckon all this is a media beat up and can't help but think that the Swans are clever by saying indefinitely as it doesn't hold them to a specific number of weeks. Could be back in 2 or 5 - who knows.

If you have a read of today's The Age paper, the so called "expert" of footy Robert Walls has stated in yet another one of his magnificent pieces of Journalism...(sarcastic), that Barry Hall needs to be retired for good. What an absolute knob. Perhaps someone needs to point that out to Robert, cause he has been past his used by date for a long time now.

Apologies if all of this has been already said on this thread, but I have neither time nor inclination to read it all.

What the hell does ?standing down? mean anyway. What a lot of bull. The bloke swung or attempted to push his marker. No-one died. He gave away a few kicks. So did a few others. What about others who kicked straight to the opposition. Want to ?stand them down? too!?!

The whole ?Bloods Code? mumbo-jumbo seriously gives brings the bile up in the back of my neck!

Get the bloke his week off. Fair enough. Those are the stupid tribunal rules.

He is still, however, our most potent forward, so as soon as that?s done, get him back on the park!!!

The hysteria about all this is such a joke. I think back to how the Irish were called all kinds of ?pussies? etc after the last IR fiasco, but the treatment of one punch and one attempted punch by Barry Hall, you?d think he?d committed a crime against humanity!

                        P.S. Walls is an idiot.

You'll find many here of the same opinion.
You'd think most of the posters here were opposition back line players.....

                            Bring him back ASAP.

Run him off the bench and give him half a game - temperament based.
Maybe they could hook up some sort of 'anger detector' to his skull and monitor when he needs to be dragged.

He should apply for the next Hulk movie.

Can just see him spurting out "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry"

I would have thought a boxing career is looking less and less likely.
Wouldn't you think that boxers who can't control their anger and fought on emotion would be stuffed?
