Meh. Almost everybody looked shot last night. He wasn't from our worst, and has been overall pretty good, better than I expected, since he returned. He's been out of footy for a while, and there was no way he was going to be as good this year as he was last year after doing his knee.Last edited by BSA5; 6 July 2008, 11:06 PM.Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon! -
It will probably be several more weeks till he is match fit.
He came back so quickly. We have to give him time to get everything right.Comment

Where did you pull that one from,he wasnt the only person last night to look crap. Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Didn't say that he looked crap, said he looked lame. Apparently had an operation on his knee during the bye week too. Maybe it is match fitness but there is a possibility, imo, that the overseas op may not have been as successful as first thought?Comment

He was rushed back into the side when he should have eased back for a month or so in the reserves. Regardless of the operation's success, I don't think we'll see him back to his best until next year."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Agree, as with any op it takes a long time to over come the full pain of the surgery, and regain 100% confidence in your and the knees ability.Comment

Seeing there's little chance of him being 'rested' now, put him on the wing so that he can be a bit of a free agent who pops up at random, and use his disposal skills on more inside-50s. Mattner and Kennelly can provide the run from behind the play.Comment

Brad Seymour announced during the MMM commentary that Mal had another op during the break - not a lot of detail except that it was a 'minor' procedure. It was then inferred that the op was due to the knee not being quite right - not sure how it could be seen any other way - is hardly going to be 'cosmetic' but possible I guess to have been some kind of 'clean up'.
This news is a little more disturbing for me following on from last Sunday when friends and I called in to a south coast town for lunch and noticed Swans 05 posters in the kitchen - the chef was the fan and before leaving we talked up our chances this year and he poo poo'd them for 3 reasons:
1. Mal's knee is not right
2. Baz's groin is not right (neither is his head but that's another story)
3. Youngsters are carrying injuries (no names mentioned but the inference was plural)
Yikes!Patterns emerge, but do they mean anything? No.Comment

IMO you cant single out one player only, and if thats the case about his knee then end his season right now and do it the proper way.Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

20 other players were not hobbling along as though there leg was not working properly. I thought Malceski was.Comment
