All downhill from here?

I'm as gutted as everyone else about Saturday, but really, it was one game. As someone else has already said, give it another 3 weeks, if we have lost those games then yes, doom and gloom for all!Comment

I'm really tired of this cliche trotted out. Of coourse you can but that still doesn't offset the fact that a team beating only lower-ladder teams is not travelling as well as one beating higher ones as well.
Undoubtedly it matters what quality of opposition you beat.
If you played a series of games beginning from bottom of the ladder to top you would most likely find a different trend to playing in the opposite direction or alternating between low and high.
Our performance this year so far is not necessarily significantly better than last year's in terms of W-L, purely because we have had an easier draw this year.
A quick look at the fixture shows that the teams below us have played similar teams and the last 8 weeks has alot of top 8 teams playing each other. We have won the games we should have won, Adelaide, for example have not beaten ANY top 8 team so far.

There was no doom and gloom in the comment - simply an observation on the quality of teams we have beaten, which is a fact. More to the point, I said a few weeks ago that the latter part of the season will be more meaningful than the earlier part as to our performance and we would probably lose last weekend's game.Comment

No doubt we played a crap game BUT did Collingwood really play well 'cos I don't think so otherwise surely they would have beaten us by more than 29 points. I do not think we could have played any worse. I cannot believe that the experts and journalists seem to think that Collingwood played well even Mick Malthouse didn't think so. I also wonder how much the ground played a part in our awful game as I think some of our players were too wary to really go in hard.Comment

Gee talk about being dramatic. Last week there were talks of flags, this week we're certain to miss the top 4 and some chance of missing the 8.
I'd love to know which side's going to knock us out of the top 4.
Adelaide? Wouldn't think so, they're travelling a lot worse than us.
Brisbane? Don't think they're good enough at this stage. Year or 2 from being a serious threat.
Collingwood? Play well against most of the good teams but can't beat teams they 'should beat'. They'll have to win 2 more games than us on the way home. Pretty tough for them too.Bloods

I love it.....everyone says "well we only beat teams below us" "we should've won those", "blah blah blah..."
Don't you think that maybe the reason those tems are below us is because teams like the SWANS KEEP BEATING THEM? And that the reason teams like Geelong are at the top of the ladder is because NO ONE CAN BEAT THEM? THAT'S WHY THEY'RE TOP?!?!
Of course we are good enough to finish top 4. If you don't think we are then who do you think will take our place?
Collingwood? Nope. They're a side we don't match up well on, but other teams will keep them out.
Crows? Maybe, but their lack of depth is starting to show and their part time forward line is starting to crack.
North? Not in a million years.
Saints? Ditto.
Have some faith bee-yatches. There's plenty of life left in our boys yet. And you watch: Baz will be back in 4 weeks bigger and better and more BALANCED than ever!Damn that Sorcerer! Twenty gold pieces and I'm wankered on rohypnol!Comment
