Had the advantage against Petrie and Hale in the ruck, gave off some great hitouts to advantage including McVeigh's snap from 25m out.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

he was absolutely superb last night against hte Roos. They were stupid to drop McIntosh imo, really gave us a big advantage in the ruck.

Spida also had a decent game last night. This surely has to be his last season imo, but by gee he's still a top quality tap ruckman. Cant do a lot else anymore sadly, but the footy brain is still well and truly ticking over. I hope he stays on to mentor our young ruckmen

He was outstanding in the ruck, but how many marks did he drop.
I've never seen him drop so many. I know it was wet, but others managed to hold on.

I don't think it's a coincidence that his ruckwork has improved since Spida came to the club. His taps to advantage last night were sensational.

Shows the value of a quality ruckman against "tall" guys. Hale and Petrie are fwds, not ruckmen. Jolly & Everitt should beat them mercilessly. Much like they did against Carlton (Cloke & Kruezer).

Nonetheless, saying it and actually doing it are two different things. Thankfully, they got the job done on Saturday night.

Jolly was clearly the better of the two. Spida, excepting a couple of decisive touches in the last, was only slightly better than ordinary.

Hope Jolly carries the form into the game against Minson who's struck a purple patch recently and plays a similar, mobile, rucking role. If Jolly plays like he did on Saturday night, he should get us first touch at the stoppages which will be a huge advantage.

I would have thought he has been there long enough to teach the young blokes how to throw full cans of VB at cars.
