Any danger of Brabazon getting a run?

With all the injured and suspended midfielers we have atm I think it's finally time to see what he can do.

He has been waiting patiently for the best part of 3 years now and has been named in the best in the ressies on a regular basis this year.

He deserves a chance in the next few weeks IMO.

I was at the reserves game on Sunday and he had at least 30-40 posessions
Scmidt out and Benny looking for retirement, he surely must be close. He can't be worse than some of the seniors playing atm.
    cheers

Which senior midfielder would you like to see replaced?

        Kirk
        Goodes
        McVeigh
        Bolton
        Ablett

Bolton might be the closest, but from all reports Brabazon gets the ball okay like Bolton but is just as bad at getting rid of it.

Braba is absolutely, positively nothing like Bolton.

I'm not a big fan, but would be happy to see him get his chance in the current environment and see if he can produce at top level, he's quickish and stranger things have happened. BUT, he has barely got a hard ball in the 2's in the best part of 3 seasons, so don't expect him to get down and dirty.

With Monty out for a month (unfortunately), now is the time for the Brab to get an opportunity in the big league.

I wasn't asking for a like for like swap just who might be under the pump the most and Bolton's lack kicking penetration and decision making skills put's him at present at the top of the under the pump tree.

However, reports on Brabazon's skills seem to indicate you are not going to get a marked improvement in decision making skills with him included.

What we do need is an injection of pace, so maybe MOD is the man for this.

I have Ryan since Nth Albany days. He can be counted on for full 100%
effort, will run all day and is the complete team player. If he gets his
chance it is the result of a lot of hard work, dedication and IMHO deserves
                  the opportunity.

Monty's been playing much more as a forward this year than a midfielder. His marking in the forward line on Sunday was one of the few highlights of the game.

So if we're looking for like for like, Grundy seems the logical choice to come in. He's not going to be as good at ground level as Monty but he can mark the ball.

I then reckon that he and Playfair have a week or two to compete as to who provides the better second/third marking option in the forward line until Hall is deemed fit to return and whoever comes second loses their spot.

I would like to see Brabazon get a game.I have seen him play a few times and he looks a likely type.Haven't seen much of him this year. His kicking was the thing letting him down.
MOD is another who impresses at Reserve level. He has genuine pace and we are desperate for that.I hope they elevate him.

Seeing that Malceski is apparently going to come up, isn't this 'who do we bring in for Buchanan?' talk irrelevant? Or, for those on the dumping Smith wagon, it should at least be 'who do we bring in for Smith?'

The Swans' track record on forced changes is that they are very rarely like-for-like. We've had plenty of midgets come into the 22 when big guys were forced out with injury, and vice versa.

I'll take the word of those who watch plenty of 2s as to who is the best credentialled to come in. But 'he's been trying his guts out for 3 years, give him a go' is never an argument that will cut much slack. Just ask Willoughby or Matt Davis.
