Should we wear the old red vee guernsey at Melbourne away games?

I have been following the thread on Big Footy about whether the Swans should follow in the Brisbane Lions footsteps & use the old South guernseys when we play away games in Victoria.

I'd be curious as to what people thought on this issue. And whether it really is an important issue for them at all, being they from Sydney or the Lake.

Fire away with your thoughts people. But bear it mind, try & keep things respectful. Because without South Melbourne there would be NO Sydney Swans.

They should change to the old traditional red vee

They should keep the same guernsey in both Sydney & Melbourne

They should use the red vee only for special occasions (ie heritage rounds)

The guernsey we play in is irrelevant. I'll still support the team the same.

      Well said JF.

I reckon the Swans should use the current gurnsey in Sydney and at interstate games, but in Melbourne they should use the old Bloods gurnsey.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

I would be happy for that to happen, but I won't be upset if we don't.

I also think the club should be looking at other of our heritage jumpers to wear for heritage round. We have worn 6 different jumpers before the current one, it would be good to something diffeent trotted out in heritage round.

Definitly strengthen the ties between Sydney and SMFC, they are a part of Sydney so can't see why it wouldn't be possible to wear the Red V in Melbourne.

I personally love the South Melbourne guernsey and would love to see it at Melbourne games. It probably wont happen, but I'm a fan

I prefer the South jumper anyway.

I voted on the aesthetic quality of each guernsey.
Personally I prefer the new one.
It would be nice to see them in the old jumper from time to time, whether it be in Melbourne or Sydney - I don't think it really matters.
But to play every Vic games in the old jumper would be a step backwards IMO.
They're the SYDNEY Swans, and should dress like it.

Other jumpers should be reserved from the odd fun occasion

The old South Melbourne faithful still turn up to Melbourne away games in good numbers compared to any other interstate side. I'd love to the see the red V jumper used for Melbourne away games.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

Sure. Love the old guernseys. I'd be happy to see the lads in the classic V style any day.

The Swans are a two city team, their origins are very important, I've voted yeah.

Shouldn't you be at the Knox V Croydon game right now.

I'm from Croydon so only get home games.

Being an old South supporter I suppose the South jumper would be ok occasionally but I'm not fussed. I happen to like the heritage jumper.

A retrograde step in my opinion. By all means wear the old guernsey for the heritage games, but the team is now the Sydney Swans, and their playing strip should always reflect that.

Ahhhh, someone who checked where I was from before they tore into mer for 'dissing' our heritage

I hardly have time to make it to Swans games in Melbourne, let alone local footy.
Besides, I can't go anywhere right now.
I have nail polish, lipstick and makeup on, and am wearing feathers and leather.
