I haven't read the last 9 pages of this thread so I'm probably repeating what others have said. But how completely crap crap crap is the umpiring. It's not so much the ones the Bloos are getting - though the free in front of goal to Fev and the free to Judd that preceded the 50m penalty left a lot to be desired. But if the umpires are going to have to play each and every single minor thing to the Blues, why aren't they giving the Swans the same treatment?
Why do the Blues get twice as long as the Swans to dispose of the ball in a tackle? There were two in the last few minutes where the Blues had an age to get rid of it yet it was called play on. Why didn't MickyO get a 50m penalty when Waite collided with his head well after he'd taken the mark? I don't care if Waite was committed to the contest. He still clattered into his head which was a clear post-mark free. How many times is Jude going to get tackled around the neck at centre bounces before he gets some charity too?
Away from the umpiring, the Blues are using the ball better than the Swans, though our boys have improved a little in that department. Jude's having a pretty good game, Bevo too. And Everitt was just about our best in the first quarter. We desparately need Goodes to find a way to work himself into the game. Maybe put him head to head against Judd because Kirky's struggling with that tag.Comment

With regards to the umpiring, our reputation precedes us. Sure they'll try to be impartial, but it's human nature to have a premeditated view of us a scragging, holding team.
Having said that, hopefully they take a look at the stats at half time and pay us a few cheapies in the 2nd half.Comment

I like what Frawley said at the half-time break. About 13 or 14 of those frees were justifiable. Agree with him about that, unfortunately for us even though the umpiring has been crap, the Blues have been first to the ball so have gotten the frees because of that. Well the majority of them for that reason.
Just wanted to highlight that NOG is playing really well on Walker at the moment. Here's hoping he can continue it in the second half.Comment

We'll see how much the Swans really care in this quater. If we can't beat Carlton then we wont make the 4 and don't deserve to. I already know we wont do any damage against the top 3 in the finals, but it's just a pride thing.
C'mon Swannies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

I think we are clearly being too bevo-centric. He's not our only forward you know.
On the umpiring IMO most of them have been there. Maybe it looks different on tv but here we just look way too slow and indecisive.
177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.Comment
