I believe that we get 4 or 5 locals who just turn up on the day and we don't know who they are going to be...there werea couple of mentions earlier in the season about not enough local top ups being provided by the canberra league."I'll acknowledge there are more talented teams in the competition but I won't acknowledge that there is a better team in the competition" Paul Roos March 2005Comment

Yes sharp, those 17 names include a few non listed players. Apparently there was a mixup last week which left us with 1 player short, hopefully it's not 7 short today!Comment

Just noticed no Mathews or Smith (I saw him in the coaches box today) so there must have been a few injury concerns going into the Carlton game.Comment

Not bad for 17 players. There's a good chance now, with the injuries challenging our depth, that we could drop out of the top 4 and miss the finals.Comment

Interesting that Ainslie has John Holmes playing. Thought he retired years ago.Bevo bandwagon driverComment

With only 11 Swans-listed players (if not an all-time low, at least a low for the last 3-or-so seasons), that's a respectable result.
Take Reg, MOD, Schmidt, Mathews, Smith and Davis out of those who have played a lot of 2s this year. Add to that the ongoing absence of Fosdike, Barlow, Meredith, Laidlaw, Thornton and DOK and you've got a very thin number of 2nds going around. We cop too many more injuries (or suspensions for that matter) and we'll be looking at calling the side the Sydney Top-Ups (with occasional guest appearances by Swans-listed players). Oh, wait a minute: after the Carlton game we have copped more injuries.
The fact that both Mathews and Smith were at the TD tracksuited up, means that we knew we had injury worries beyond Malceski going into the firsts game.Last edited by SimonH; 21 July 2008, 12:53 PM.Comment

Wait a minute. Dean Terlich hasn't played for a month either, and isn't (and hasn't been as far as I know) on the injury list either. Come on fellas, don't think we're missing anything here: out with the latest Nick Davis-like scandal!Comment
