    luke ablett

Thought he was one of our best today, with jude.

I thought he got the team going at the clearances in the 2nd qtr.

Both Ablett and Jude were excellent...and I've been suggesting all week there is only room for one of them in our team.....wrong again.

Definitely one of our best today. His clearances (along with Jude's) in the centre helped kick start our comeback.

i was happy him and jude showed some form. But its needs to be the standard 90-95% of the time, all good and well to come out against a middle of the road side and play a decent game, but where was it the last few weeks, and months in noggys case.

                Consistency boys!!

                i know im being negative

                  But you are correct.

Pay that to Noggy today. Thought he was brilliant both defensively and offensively.

Let's hope this is a springboard for better games to come.

Just taking Nick The Greek out of the Underbellies arse-senal would have been enough. He made me think of Crouchy driving Aker insane (and out of Brisbane) and kicking 2 goals on him as well.
I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

I've been one of his chief deriders in the last few weeks. And while I maintain that in the long term one of [insert one of 6-to-8 young midfielders] has more upside with less downside than NOG, that was a huge step up and exactly the sort of game that justifies his spot in the side.

And it appears from the post-match interviews that NOG is as hard on himself as ever (link):

?I haven?t had the greatest of years, so it was kind of good to get back to basics and have a very specific role to go out and shut him down,? he said.

[Asked whether the match was a personal turning point for him:] "Who knows?? Ablett said.

?I don?t want to get too carried away. I?ve only played one half-decent game.

?There are still six tough games to go [this year]. There are still a few things I stuffed up during the game so we?ll work through them."

NOG has a bigger challenge coming up against Adelaide where he's likely to have a more amorphous role. Adelaide simply don't have any Nick Stevens/Chris Judd midfielders who are worth tagging all day. The principal Crow worth tagging is McLeod, and putting NOG on him would be suicide.

                            Onya NOG.
Now, can you manage to play like that for the rest of the year?

Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Won't he just pick up their best or second best midfielder?
