to all those doubters and bashers, and i being one , its time to eat humble pie and say well done to solid performances and much improved seasons by all of the 3 above players. to much negative is written on this board so lets look for positive spins and i think the 3 sure have given us that, so far this season.

McVeigh has had a great year after looking like he was going nowhere in 07.
Jude has strung a few top games together this year too.
Credit to the coaching staff for their persistence in McVeigh in particularHe ate more cheese, than time allowedComment

Bevan - I like Bevo, and have since his debut season when he signed my hat. I wanted him to get #14. He is a good solid player and if he finishes his career half the footballer Connolly thinks he is he will have overachieved.
McVeigh - I have always had a soft spot for McVeigh (mainly because I could never face the prospect of such a high draft pick being a true hack). I am glad to see him doing well, but let's face it, he's no Luke Hodge.
Bolton - B1 always gives us a couple of stand out games against ordinary sides, a few good games, a few ordinary games and a couple of shockers a season. A very good game against Carlton does not count for much I am afraid. Tries hard but so what, so did David Spriggs. Massively overrated, and not just by those related to him.Comment

Don't think humble pie is required....
From memory, The Bevo and McVeigh Band wagons have been going ahead at full pace, fully loaded, all year long.
As for B1, well he's hardly been the whipping boy he was. But let's not get to carried away with one outstanding performance (OK 2, if you include the WCE game).... I'd like to see him put in 20 good games a year instead of cple of blinders and 16 average to poor games.Comment

We only played Carlton, let's just remember that. If it'd been a kick the other way, this place wouldn't be anywhere near as positive.
Jude was fantastic yesterday, as was Ablett on Stevens. I've been a knocker of the two but both were crucial in yeterday's win.
McVeigh has been great this year and after a quiet month, it was good to see him regain some form.
Bevan has been a lot better this year, I don't think anyone would argue with that.Bloods

Good game from the boys, lets give it another crack next week. Special shout-out to Jude - what a game son!I was wrong about Gerard and his hair.

The off-ence of Jude was outstanding, built on the de-fence of Kirk and Noggy. (Pardon the Americanisms).
Bevo and McVeigh continued their good seasons - well done for consistency. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

Thanks heaps McVeigh!!!!
I was enjoying spending the last week speeding around Sydney - no traffic on the roads, and all the coppers were keeping an eye out on the god-botherers. One bloody good game later, and I'm back to the speed limit.
Thanks.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

And I like how you put it, "...so far this season."

Never really ragged on McVeigh or Bevan.
Maybe Bevan a bit at times, but no more than lots of otehr players.
Either way, I would never apologise for my opinions.
Whatever I've said at the time was how I felt.
Nothing wrong with that.
Bolton has had a few good games.
Great.
We need more than that.
Hopefully he can give us moreThe difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.Comment

I do owe McVeigh an apology. Sorry Mark...I mean Jared (whatever the spelling). I said he was too slight of frame to make it. I was wrong. He has become a very consistent good average player, after an extended period of crap.
For Bevan. No apologies - I have always like the lad's work (card carrying bandwagoner). Go get em Bevo!!
Jude. He owes me an apology for playing like @@@@ for most of 2 seasons before coming good again. Perhaps being on the trade table focuses the mind somewhat. Anyway. Well done Jude. Keep up the good work.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment
