You reap what you sow as the old saying goes. We got stubble from 4 tonight or maybe the seed didn't even break the surface. He is officially the only player to miss a shot from 1 metre out this season. Every other player has just stepped sideways and slotted it. Embarrasing to say the least. If he kicked that we had a sniff, but no, he just played true to form.

We saw against the Bulldogs earlier in the year that he is no longer up to it.
Now it's just obvious that Roosy is playing him so he can get to 200, sacrificing the good of the team in the process.Comment

Poor, poor selection.
His best, some 3 years ago, was ordinary. What did Roos think he would add to the side. Would have been so much better to let a young player have a crack just for the experience.

I'm surprised no-one else spotted the purpose of Benny's selection... and playing pretty much the entire night in the forward line.
Have a supportive chat to BBBH, hang around telling stories about the old days, generally just make sure he's emotionally staying on an even keel.
This was perhaps the first time in AFL history that a player has been selected as a chaperone.Comment

Now i really don't get why BEN MATHEWS still gets a game what has he got to offer nothing yet he gets a game ahead of players like Smith Who i rate higher than Mathews sure he was a serviceable player back in the day but not now if he gets another game it will be for him just to get to his 200 which is pathetic he should not get another game for the year sure his good in the reserves but thats nothing compared to AFL i think u keep him in the reserves untill he retires
