Won't get to see the game on BigPon until tommorow. On SEN, Dhuddo said there was footage of Roos smiling, there towards the end of the game? Is that right?
With Barry just back and Mal, Leo, Micky O, Amon, Kickfair and, effectively, Goodes out; if 3 or 4 of the points we kicked tonight were goals, maybe we're all smiling. I mean, if just 2 of the posters snake through and Adelaide starts looking over their shoulders and the supporters get into it? Maybe we're all smiling.
With The Big O out to begin with, we lose Henry and, effectively, Goodsey - yet if we'd kicked 2 goals in a row at any point in the second half, only the Shadow really knows what that would have meant to the ebb and flow. Moore, Grundy, Bird, Jack and MO played another senior game.
Thanks to the ineptitudes of those teams behind us on the ladder, undeservedly, we're Top 4. Amon will be back but you'd expect him to lack match fitness. If theres more to Mal's maladies than Roosy is letting on, I'll be disappointed in him for the first time. That'd be more than, say, Collingwood's supporters could say.
To get Hall back and lose Goodes is more damaging than getting Hall back and losing The O. To lose them both and Henry but still have the game against the Crowbots, to an extent, on our own boots was encouraging.
Worst(ish) case scenario begins with Goodes coming back diminished after missing 2 or 3. Goodes missing the rest of the season is the worst case.Micky O and Mal
miss next week as well. No (itmo, improving) Henry available next week and beyond.
If we haven't got a settled, healed lineup by Round 20 the worst thing that could happen, in this manboob's opinion, is that we scrape into the Finals and expose 7 or 8 of our young players to postseason football.
The best case scenario would have seen the boys kick (just) a few more goals tonight. A 10 point break on the pack would be a lot "healthier" than a 6point break.
OT, after the game he had last week and the improvement hes shown over the year, it's a bit harsh to call the guy McHack. In this manboob's opinion, he'd be under consideration for Most Improved at the club and in the competition. Needs to play well in 3 of the 5 games remaining, which may be a challenge given the players we have out or hobbled. In any case, I don't think it's beyond him, and I certainly expect him to be stronger and more consistent player next year.
