    ANZ stadium

Anyone heard any news if their actually going to fix up the ground for the upcoming Geelong clash. I heard bomber Thompson, on the couch, last night say that Geelong were going to take it up with them.

Has anyone heard / seen a press release or anything about the woeful state of it for AFL games?

All they have to do is mow the grass - how hard is that?

They can't do that, that would interfere with the thugby league and they couldn't upset the whopping 10,000 odd fans they get to their games

Of course they do ... in TOTAL over the WHOLE weekend (including Monday night's game).
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

They get good crowds at places like Leichhardt Oval and other traditional venues, but, like Sydney at ANZ Stadium, the atmosphere is just not the same as it is at the SCG. Ticket prices are too much as well. Lived League for 25 years before watching the Swans lose 26 in a row then win one, never been to a league game since, been to plenty of Swannies games, including the 96 prelim, best game I ever saw, most noise I ever heard, greatest atmosphere, that's what the bigvenues lack, especially with a small crowd

you forgot to include in that number, the security guards, gate attendants, food outlet workers, cleaners, and ground staff. they sometimes out number the fans!!! and wasnt it sooooooooo good to see the Netball get 12000+ and the Dogs Dragons game, they say, had 8000. One of my colleagues was out there and he said there was no way that there were 8000 - he reckoned they would have been lucky if there were 3000 at the game.

Yes where facilities take you back to the 1930's. Nothing like those underground toilets and being squashed on a hill. No thanks.

Agree with you 100%. The facilities at ANZ Stadium, and the range of food on offer - both inside and outside - leave the SCG in the dust.

When is someone going to open up a hot jam donut van?
Either venue is ok with me.

The netball GF at Acer Arena had a bigger crowd on Monday night than the NRL game next door.
