Well going both the article with ROK - Mickey, Goodes and Playfair will be out for about a month, which means if there's a time to bring the youngsters in its now.

If we're looking at the future of the club I would have thought we should include Smith, Brabazon, Vezpremi or perhaps someone else ahead of Mathews. Even if we're just looking at it on a game-by-game basis it doesn't appear that Mathews' performance in the firsts warrants further inclusion.

Braba and Vez we don't know, and they may get their chance this week anyway.
White, Faulks etc, totally different type of player.
What did people think when Rod Carter was screwed on 193 a few years back?

ROK, you're a smartarse but we luv ya for it.
Good point about Rod Carter - he really was screwed, by Colin Kinnear IIRC. It was more of a personal thing between them I believe.
But, we were on the bottom and The Tilt was a GREAT player for us over many years. In that different situation, he did deserve to get over the line IMO, and it would not have been a negative on the field.

Ben Mathews is not in the same boat, and to suggest that "anybody who is close to a milestone" deserves to get games is intolerable for me as a member of a football club striving to WIN PREMIERSHIPS.

Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

          I'll say it again.
Ben Matthews is a workhorse, and has been a great servant of the club. He did the job required of him week in and week out for years. For quite a few of those years, he was arguably the fittest member at the club.
Age does weary the best of us.

          Give him a break.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Thought Benny played OK last week. Bees another argument you can fire at Mr. Droll is that Ben plays the stopper role that allows young Bevo to be let off the chain and play up front, in the mids and all over the paddock. Give it a burl and I'm sure ROK will rethink the whole issue. Seriously, Ben Mathews deserves to make the 200 and the opportunity is there to play him. We need his experience and toughness. Im sure he will make it and good on him.

Did I see that Crouch was recovering from a calf injury. I have been absent from the site for times over the past few weeks so I may have missed that announcement. But if this is the first news of this, then it is a serious leak by Allison and he should be admonished for letting that news slip.

Could it be that he has carried this injury last year and through pre season and the season proper. Is this the mystery injury?

I'm not doubting his contribution. He's been a handy player over the years.

But right now, he's not up to it and really shouldn't be in the side.

                    Correct, that's the point.

What he has done in the past really has nothing to do with it.

We wouldn't see Crouch and Mathews playing in the same side this weekend, would we?

I think we will see Brabazon play on Sunday.Roosy says he's a good, hard runner and that's what the side needs.Reading his article was very convincing that we will see Brab.

                                So do I.
Anyone that reckons Crouch and Brennan are ahead of Benny aren't watching the same game as me. I'll give you equal, but not ahead.

Having said that, congratulations to Braba and Vespa - I hope both show themselves to be 200-game players of the future. One thing's for sure, they'll get plenty of criticism on RWO.
