The DID win Coca Cola "super" yo-yo's. Tops.
Lucky, I and our table came considerably lower than that.

Although we did have a lot of fun.

We got Tiger on our table! What a top bloke. His mum just went back to Ireland, and she didn't fill up the freezer before she left. Bad mother!! Bad.
All the girlies at the table DID offer to fill the freezer for him, but he assured us that we were not to worry, he can cook. Bless his little cotton socks!!

We also got to chat to the big Cheese. My goodness he's tall (or maybe I'm just very short). I swear some of these boys just don't look old enough to be playing footy ... although he did assure me that he was 21!! (That's soooooooooooooooo old Cheesy!!)

When Annie stopped punching Brad Seymour and let the rest of us get anywhere near a player

Tadhg and I had a good heart to heart. This is what I learnt:
1. Crouchy to play on Aker on Sunday
2. They have been playing like "@@@@e"
3. Bazza really is blind as a bat
4. Craig Bird had to sing the club song all by himself at training yesterday
5. Birdie is going to be a gun
6. He knows nothing about the new guy from Tyrone
7. He still hasn't made up his mind about going home but really does want to
8. We will see a very different team run out on Sunday not just in personel - they will be mental or mentally different or something (maybe Bird's singing revved them up)
9. He is really crap at Trivia

Our teams form slipped badly this year, missing two star players (Go Swannies and Silent Lurker) the rest of us failed to lift so we only got third.

Our player guest was young Dan "Crusher" Currie. A VERY impressive young guy. Quietly spoken but articulate, humble, polite and very intelligent. Maybe lacking a little self confidence at present. But he certainly would have achieved a AAA+ in passing the no dickheads examination.

Around the club he answers to either Crusher or Cuz. Personally I could not bear to call one of our players by the same name as that West Coast cretin, so it will be Crusher for me in future.

He got VERY, VERY lucky.

He had a good time and had a few laughs. BTW Lucky, I think he did answer one question right for us. The room gave him a cheer!!

He was telling me how he got VIP tickets to the pope's big gig ... he laughed out loud when I called him a star ****er and how horrible it must be for them to score VIP tickets to the opening of toilet seats in Sydney. He said that Crouchy got him the hot seats!!

I was very impressed with the two players on our table, Dean Terlich and Peter Falks. Not only were they nice guys, but both, (and particularly Dean) ,were very helpful with contributing to answers to the questions.

Overall a great night!

OK, I'll bite. Why?

Well...apparently....he doesn't talk on the field so Roosy made him stand up in front of the team and sing the song by himself to the team.
I asked him about how that was and he responded with a very heart felt "terrible". I followed up that gem by asking if he had to sing the second verse and he looked really worried that there was something about the club that he didn't know. So I let him off the hook.
My final question was whether he played the "air banjo" in the bridge.
(I was on fire).
He's a very nice young guy and very easy to chat to if a bit shy.

I have to say that every player that I met came across as really humble and charming and was really honoured to be part of the red and white family. Credit to their parents but kudos to the club in how they are training these kids to be in the public eye.

Wow, tough gig for a quiet lad. Might explain the mix up he had with MOL in the Blues game.

In the Record on Saturday night it said Goodesy has moved on to "Buddhism for Busy People".
