The good news is that we only need to beat Fremantle to secure fourth spot....as long as other results fall our way....trust me I did the ladder predictor!!!!

"Also, Liam Pickering is a @@@@."

Totally!! between he and Spud that was the worst commentary Ive ever heard.
        Pickering is an obnoxious goose!

On the footy...very frustrating, we will need to have a strong game against the Schizophrenic haze next week (given that their GF is today should be doable)

        Positives

Ves was good, he'll be a keeper
Crouchy looked quick up the middle
        Bird is improving every game

        and MAAAAACCCCCAAAAAA!!!!

Some positives were certainly the young players. When Brabazon was on he made space and worked hard. Veszpremi certainly looks the goods and Brennan was OK. I think White needed a run on the ball because Everitt was shocking. Needed to get White in the game, he needs that work instead of working in a crowded forward line.

Bird good again and works really hard. His disposal needs a lift and some grunt.

Ablett was clearly our worst player, fumbling, bumbling and horrible disposal. I reckon he will score about a 6 on the supercoach stats.

What happened when we went long, we unsetteled their backline. The only errant rush into the forward line in the last Q through the midfield was a Crouch kick.

Why is it now that Kennelly goes to run through the middle but stops and handballs off when in the past he kicked it deep? Really frustrating, particularly when we are playing the better football, it just brings the flow to a halt and usually causes a turnover.

I thought that it was the most promising loss this year. We were never gonna win without MOL, Goodes, Barry, Malceski, Moore, Buchanan etc etc. That we can look forward to these players returning is promising insofar as hoping we get to play a final at home and we win it. That's all I want this season.

McVeigh was a joy to watch today. His only poor quarter was his 2nd, also the teams worse quarter and the quarter which won the Dogs the game.

We are so lucky with other results that keep going our favour.

                Ves was impressive.

Braba surprised me and performed a lot better than I had expected. Would like to see him get another game.

On reflection the second half was much better with far more intensity. We still just over possessed and didn't take our chances in front of goal.

I'd call it a respectable (though totally predictable) loss. Two first gamers performed reasonably though unspectacularly well, and no Playfair (no great loss), no Micky (major loss), no Moore (significant loss), no Esky (significant loss) no Leo (significant loss), no Goodes (major loss), no Monty (significant loss). To me, Crouchie showed his footy smarts by attacking through the middle, Brennan and White, for my 2bits worth, showed a bit also...though remember JW turn over led to their first goal, Teddy hitting post twice, Brabazon's handball, Jolly's kickin from OOBOF (thanfully Akker only got a point), Richards and Bolton's free-kick giveaways that both led to direct goals. Not a bad effort from an unsettled team under the circumstances.
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Pretty much where we are at.
Simply not up to it at the moment.

                        Positives though is :
No Goodes ,Malceski ,Monty ,Leo ,Fossie & Micky O.
Our kids are promising for the future.
Vespa,Smith,White,Brabazon,Jack,Barlow,Moore and Birdy can all play.
Patrick Vespremi: Watched him for years, the kid is a gun.
Jarred Crouch: Thought he was finished, though I liked what I saw today.
Luke Brennan : He has something to offer.
Macca : What a game . Made Cooney look real ordinary

                        Negatives
We will be lucky to make the 8.
We are so far away from it, its not funny.
B2s form is a worry, he needs Leo back.
Spida : Well @@@@ me ! Finished , how he gets a game is just bull@@@@.
Reg Grundy : Not good enough.
Luke Ablett : Canberra , here I come.
Barry Hall : Really struggling at present.
                        Our GOALKICKING is simply terrible.
The game was basically a carbon copy of the earlier game this year.

4 losses in 5 weeks all to teams in the 8.
Beat the Blues by 2 in a ordinary display and Melbourne basically outplayed us for 3 quarters at Manuka.
We simply must win next week to get anything going.

I did too and various combinations and unless we win 3 more games we will not finish 4th, so we have to beat Freo, Collingwood and Brisbane. Not going to happen, we will finish 5th or 6th.

In the end there was at least some positives considering the amount of players out.

As I suspected, the reason behind blooding two debutants in the one game was due to injury and no other reason. They would still be playing in reserves otherwise.

McVeigh is reminding me of Schwass more and more. Even his running style. Obviously has listened to his critics on RWO

                            Crows biggest threat for fourth.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Also remember that this year (and last for that matter) is a good time to be a non-contender because the Cats are so damn good! Oh what it would be like to be a Geelong supporter and have the realistic expectation that your team was going to win. Not even the great Brisbane team of 2001-04 could be relied on for that. The truth is that being a pretender like we are, we arent good enough to be a contender, but we're also not bad enough to snare any of the better draft picks. West Coast realised this early on, and have played to take advantage of the draft.

The team's destiny is still in its own hands, so long as we start getting some good players back from injury. I like that type of finish to a season. Even better if they succeed in winning at least 2 of the remaining 4, which may even be enough to get us 4th place.
