    The nervous wait...

Does anyone else get nervous before we play each week?

It sounds stupid considering I play no part in the action (although maybe that makes it worse), but I get a bit edgy when the weekend comes around waiting for our team to play.

It seems to be getting worse as the end of the season draws near.

These Sunday games are the worst. It's too long to wait! It would be great if we had more Friday / Saturday night games - although if we lost early in the round I would probably be aggravated for the whole weekend.

Although for this match I don't even get to see it as I am at work - following the game through the net (I'll watch it when I get home of course).

Maybe this game has me more nervous because of all the unknowns (new players, others in new positions, new game style(?), etc). Plus I don't expect that we will win (hope to God we do), but feel we really need to in order to secure our place in September. Go the Bloods!

I do although I'm past being nervous now this season. Poor results over the last 4 weeks have lowered my expectations so much that any win will now be a bonus and might help secure us a top 8 spot rather than be critical to our top 4 chances.

This thread could now be about Craig Bolton after flattening an ump.

On Triple M (who were covering the other match and just watched the replay) they said that the umpire was pathetic for not getting up and that he was barely touched by Bolton (BT actually said that the umpire would be embarrassed when he sees the replay). I have not seen it as yet.

Hopefully that means that Bolton's wait won't be nervous at all.

If Bolton gets anything worse than a fine, it will be a joke. (even that is laughable IMO)

The umpire was clearly out of position, and should not have been standing that close to the ball.

Apparently it was an ugly dive, B2 shouldn't be punished then...

The Sydney MMM team reckoned he should have been given a W.O.G vote for his performance. They were taking the Mick saying he'd returned from life-saving surgery to take part in the 2nd half.
                Bring it on!

The maggot got in the way of play and Craig hardly touched him.

The pathetic creature lay on the ground motionless as if he'd been hit by a truck.

It was really sad to watch. 3 votes for the Goose Gong!

That would have to be the most pathetic post of the year. Hope your proud of yourself.

I just saw it on the news and it looked like there was little contact made.

Nothing in it and B2 SHOULD have nothing to worry about.

But when you're an umpire not expecting any contact whatsoever, and you get an elbow in the ribs/kidney from an AFL player running at a contest, it's going to hurt.

I'm normally one who's an advocate for giving officials a break but that was SOFT from Nicholls. What a drama queen!

Yeah I agree the umpire should have been put on report for taking a dive...

The ump backed into him, and B2 was watching the ball, and then suddenly had to try and avoid the ump, but had no time... My only regret was that the other umps didn't blow it up straight away, and the dogs got a goal...
