    End of an Era

Relentless Harvey calls time after 21 stellar years

One of the quiet likeable characters of footy.
His presence and skill on the field will be missed.

I was really hoping he'd go one more year. Absolute champion.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

He is still fit enough. But the bruises and bumps hurt more as you get older.

fantastic player. huge incentive for the saints to win this weekend, they'll definitely get over the line against collingwood.

A modern day legend of the game.

Dual Brownlow Medallist (1997, 1998), Leigh Matthews Trophy (1997), 8-time All-Australian, 4-time St. Kilda B&F, 2004 Michael Tuck Medallist, 3-time EJ Whitten Medallist, only current player to play in VFL era.

He's currently on 376 games and should pass Simon Madden's 378 by season's end to finish 3rd overall on the all-time games list. He would've played ~450 games had he not sustained so many injuries during his career.

A real champion of the game and will be sorely missed.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

There is a lot to admire about Robert Harvey on the football field. With the exception of some terrible hair do's he went alright!

Wow, a truly remarkable career in the game.
Congratulations Harv, we will really miss your cool sublime skills and how fairly you played the game.

I would have loved to see him go around once more too! They had him on Before The Game earlier this year, and came out with the stat that something like 160-odd players on AFL lists weren't even BORN when he started his senior career! That's a scary scary thought in this day and age.

Have to agree Lucky - had a great career a fair and smart player - but also had a fair bit of time off with injury (which if we are honest prolonged his career a tad) So now he will have plenty of time to find a decent Barber!
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Agree LK, Think he and Roos may have shared the same barber?
