That's a good point, 2 is the number of kicks he got in each of the 4 games leading up to somehow getting selected for the 2005 Grand Final team.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

if i want a player to go out and stop the team being beaten id take bevan in a heart beat.

but if i want someone to win the game he would be one of the last.

Heart and ticker are great and he is in the best 22, but his skills are pretty ordinary.
Theres not much left to say

i have never questioned his courage or 'heart' but his skills always let Paul down. he was an ordinary player
This year he has improved his skills, contributes more and is definitely a valuable member of our team.
Has gone forward one or twice and kicked goals ( carlton ), defended well and last nights mark emphasised that he dosent give up.
              Well done Bevo

I will repeat what i have said. He is a great tackler (although he actually missed a few last night) is a great kick in space and time and very courageous. He still makes dumb mistakes in close and the mark was very brave. But players like him are dime a dozen in the league as they ought be. But all the same well done for making himself a league footballer.

by the way we desperately need the bulldogs to win and they are seriously struggling

                        Agree with the OP.

Despite the persistence of one particular poster, Bevan has made the transition from fringe player to mid-tier player this year....that is all.

He is in the best 22.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

He is one of our most valuable players and certainly the most versatile. He is in the top tier of the team. Refer to Roos comments after the Freo game. But then he is only the coach. Dear o dear.

I can just imagine the hours of sleep Mark Thompson is going to lose wondering who he's going to put on Bevan. Poor guy.

I haven't got anything against Bevan but as others have said he is a good run-of-the-mill player who is no superstar. Time will tell whether he'll become one but I doubt it.
                              Bring it on!

No, he's not. Don't get me wrong, I really like Bevan's work this year and he now deserves a place in the first 22, but he's not one of our most valuable.

O'Keefe, Goodes, Jolly, Kirk, B1, B2, O'Loughlin, Hall, Crouch, Mattner, Richards, Kennelly and probably a few more are still way more valuable than Bevan.
