This has us losing to cats, and beating Pies and Lions.

Mind you we could finish as low as 9th, but that is highly unlikely.
All other teams would have to win against the top 3 for this to happen. Possible but unlikely.

Sure you can't work the ladder out in a way that has the Pies missing the 8? :-)

I'm sure I could, but I was trying to be realistic.

There are no guarantees we will beat Brisbane, that have been more unpredictable than our own swans this year. And given that a few of their seniors may be bowing out at the end of the year, they may just lift a little.

I reckon the Swans have been THE most predictable team this year.

Current top 8 teams: 1 win 1 draw 7 losses
Current bottom 8 teams: 10 wins 0 losses

Collingwood have been the most un-predictable - 5 wins each agaist top and bottom 8 sides, and 5 and 4 losses respectively.

Probably just ticked the box without much thought for that one.
I don't think it will have much bearing on the 8.

I predict Sydney will end up with 50 points at seasons end.

It takes an optimist (or a masochist) to think that Sydney can beat the Pies.
So many times in the past 5 years, (particularly in seasons 2006, 2007 and 2008), I have thought it was our time to win... we were due... only to be disappointed.

The record since Round 21 2003 stands at just 2 wins and 6 losses. And only two of those 8 games were away from Sydney.

Even when on the mere two occasions when we have beaten Collingwood in the past 1/2 decade:

-both games were in Sydney;

-in both seasons we finished either top 6 (2004) or were the premiers (2005), whilst they finished bottom 4 in both years (13th in 2004, and 15th in 2005); and

-the margin was only by a goal (2004), or a point (2005).

I'm sick of taking the bait. In Round 21 this year I'll be as usual supporting Sydney, but this time I'm tipping the Pies.

PS. Yes, I know the games at Telstra Dome, where Collingwood? record is perceived to be not the best, (26 wins/23 losses to be exact, compared with 60 wins/59 losses for the MCG for the same period). I still however remain convinced.
