    NOG - Not Good Enough

NOG = Throw It On The Boot.

I like NOG. I think he's a real warrior but he's not at AFL standard. Throwing it on the boot EVERY time is unacceptable.

I haven't seen a well directed kick from him consistently in his entire career. Even his set kicks end up as 50/50s.

    Am I harsh?

      nope, you're not being harsh.....

I've said the same about him for quite some time now.
He just blindly kicks time after time..... and I've had enough of it!

Luke Ablett, you are the weakest link (well, one of them)... goodbye!

I was hoping in the Round 20 Geelong game that we could have arranged a mid-game cousin-to-cousin trade. It used to happened all the time at the backyard family functions when I was kid. That is, after half time, Luke plays for the Cats whilst Gary Jnr plays for the Swans.

I then woke up and realised that I was having a dream.

ablett was developing along reasonably well before this season. I think he has gone backwards big time and would probably be picked after a lot of players who used to be behind him.

He actually is quite a good kick and is probably not utilised effectively in the team, maybe he could be a crumbing forward option.

I think he should be dropped this year, but i think in his career he has given enough that this year can be forgotten and he can work hard to make 09 a great season.

No you are not harsh at all. He was building into something good from 2005-2006. I thought he would be our Mark Riccuito type ball winner (run through packs breaking tackles etc.) but has stagnated and got even worse this year.

Time for Schmidt to replace him full time.

He actually played forward pocket for some time last night. He has not the speed of foot or mind to be a crumbing forward. He played behind and gave away a ludicrous free playing behind a pack of 5 and pushed a player in the back when he was never in the contest. He didn't have the presence of mind to wait at the back of the pack for the spill. For mine his kick out on the full was the genuine highlight of his game he was that bad.

NOG's problem is that after threatening for several years to become a good player, he has just not come on. There is no aspect of his game that you would describe as a strength. He has a powerful kick but seldom kicks to advantage. He is strong but falls over too often. He has stamina, but too often, his opponent runs off him.

If he is going to be retained on the list, he needs to work harder on his game and improve all aspects by at least 10%. Keeping his feet is the best place to start.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

obviously you all know more than Paul Roos who played more than 300 games and led YOUR side to a premiership not that long ago.........Some of you have no idea!!!!.........................Start supporting more and bagging less!!!!!
Dont Judge Luke just because of his surname, he still performs the role that is asked by the coaching staff or else he wouldnt continue to be selected.

at best 3rd round draft pick trade bait. Not sure why he is playing as he is adding nothing at the moment.

I hate to say it Brooke, because I understand your passion for the club and fondness for the personnel, but I think the only way teams and even people in general better themselves is through constructive criticism. It is footy - you can't just pick a guy because he is a 'good bloke' or he won a flag. He has to earn his spot. Noggy is not doing that at the moment. Maybe is a bit early to trade him away in to oblivion, but he definitely is not up to it at the moment. Give him some time in the twos - hope that sorts him out because I reckon he can be a handy player.
                              Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!
