    Fringe Players

Jolly, Richards, Matner, B2, Hall, Schauble, etc were all fringe players who have made their names at the Swans. Are there others who we could get on the cheap, but within our culture could blossom?

I'll open the bidding - Dempster from St Kilda!

I wouldn't say Hall or Jolly came on the cheap!

I'd rather we use the draft.

Hall was nowhere near a fringe player. I'm sure Geelong should have a few on the outside who could be squeezed out, but do we really need another Playfair?

I was thinking the same thing. Whats happened to Kane Tennace? He was a high draft pick that was well regarded but has been unable to break into their team with any regularity.

Only played 1 senior game this year
On their Injury List as having an AC injury, but is back to 'test'
                Has been a major disappointment

I would rather we go for Brent Prismall, who can't seem to get a permanent place in the Geelong side, but he is still a 'required' player at Geelong

Speedy but soft is the mail I got. Would have to expect him to be traded. Has had injuries this year to boot.

It's being suggested that Essendon are looking to release Lovett, tired of his off-field behaviour issues. A change of scenery - and state - might be exactly what he needs.

He's not really a fringe player, per se, given he's pretty securely inside Essendon's best 22, but I reckon he's exactly the kind of player we need - someone with the pace to break the lines through the middle of the ground and complement the ball-winning ability of Bird, Kirk, Bolton, Schmidt etc.

What is he worth? What do we have that Essendon lacks (and we'd be happy to give up?)

No other club has a Jude Bolton.

Far too many off field problems Liz. Has not turned up to a couple of training sessions because of, dare I say it, the Shaws/Didak syndrome. Loosely transalted or diagnosed as viewing the world through the bottom of a glass.
I believe it is a recurring issue with his career.

Ryan Gamble from the Cats looks ok.He will have trouble cementing a place in the Geelong team.
