The official Swans are a @@@@@@ up bag of rabble thread....
yet again we managed to get flogged by collingwood. Couldnt even give a whimper for 99% of the match. Our defence can't spoil and bleeds goals, our midfield cant win a contested or loose ball, and our forward line consists of a big angry man yelling at midgets who can't find the middle of the big sticks. We're @@@@@@.

And if Collingwood are a bunch of no hopers/also rans... What does that make us?
Bull@@@@, Buchanan's done enough to warrant another contract. Hall is also worth the year left on his contract.
The rest, LRT, Spida, Mathews, and Kennelly probably need to go. We may seem harsh on Tadgh, but he's played @@@@ all year, his shoulders are bunged and he's lost his pace and confidence.
Just think, heading into 2010, we'll most likely lose Hall, MOL, Leo, Kirk, and maybe Jude or Craig. We're @@@@@@.

It's a valid point, but I'm not too fond of the idea of having a forward line consisting of MOL, O'Keefe, Veszpremi and whoever else draws a short straw.
At least with Hall there you can take some of the pressure off Veszpremi, who before long will become our major target up forward. If he gets a cameo role under Hall it'll help him with his development and he won't break down under the pressure.

Agreed. But we could go hard in the trade period and get oursleves younger, key fwd that could mature with Vez.

Perhaps, but I doubt we'd get anything valuable for Hall, and key forwards are so hard to come by. You've made me think though. 2009 is a year looking VERY unlikely in terms of finals, so a mass clean-out may have merit.
Still, if we are coached well, Hall could be used as a decoy while Vesz is allowed to roam free. Vesz looks unstoppable on the lead. It's whether we can execute the decoy well, and if even Hawthorn can't manage it with Roughead and Franklin, I doubt our ability.

I highly doubt Vez will be our primary target up forward, and especially not "before long".

In that vein, as much as it pains me, well then should we add MO'L to that list??? If we accept that 2009 is a write off, then why not give another potential fwd a chance and a season under his belt?

Mate, I think you're forgetting that Hall and MOL have about a year left respectively. O'Keefe is a trouper but doesn't have the height or goal-kicking prowess to draw more than a second-rate defender.
If we assume in 2010 that we'll be minus Hall and MOL, that leaves Vesz, O'Keefe and... Grundy? Davis? Goodesy? (I hope not, we need him as a utility)
It looks grim, and Vesz is probably our tallest natural forward and best overhead mark as a result. It'll be Vesz as a main target.
It'll be a couple of years before Goodesy cements a permanent place up forward, so until then I'd be betting on Vesz.
