I hope my SA Lions smash the Kiwis. It's nice the NZers learn to play our game but not so that they actually win.

This competition does seem rather one-sided. Surely a draft and salary cap is in order..

It's amazing that the first bit of success that crustacean has had in his pathetic little territorian life was gifted by someone else.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Nauru are certainly a surprise package from such a small island nation.
I would'nt have thought the Mosquitos were that good either, but nobnob will be proud.

Are they going to give the points to the first one who scores out of China and India?

Nauru are a bit of a surprise package. They withdrew from the last cup at the last minute due to financial problems and haven't recorded too many international results since, so I don't think too many people knew what to expect. They will be very happy with their efforts over the last two weeks.

The mosquitos efforts are no surprise. They have been one of the strong fronts for international footy for quite some time, having been runners up to Ireland in 2002 and to NZ in 2005. Their junior program is quite strong and they get to hone their skills each year in the QLD country championships. They've got several players playing on scholarships throughout QLD and have had two of their players, Donald Barry and Emas Wartova, play games for the Brisbane Lions reserve side this year. That said though, I think they may be looking down the barrel of being the bridesmaid for the third straight time tonight ...
