    jonathan brown

    Hey guys

I read about how the Swans may be trying to get Jonathan Brown

Any chance of this happening and would the Swans want him ?

I would rather try and get a pacy midfielder instead of Brown but we also need a good forward as well

Imagine Brown and Hall in the forward line with Okeefe and Oloughlin

Pretty damaging if you ask my opinion

    Daz,

While it would be nice to have JB in the lineup, we can't keep picking up players nearing the ends of their careers and think it will be good for us. We need to go back to the draft and start filling our list with young players now, because the list we have at the moment isn't going to bring us a premiership. The longer we wait to use the draft as our source of new players, the longer we will be waiting for another flag.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

He wants 5 years and huge dollars we are not in that race.

With our forward setup/delivery we could well be the team who derived no benefit from having him there anyway.

Sounds good in theory but given his age and past injury problems, it could possibly end up as another Spida Everitt deal. Only more expensive and longer-lasting as he is after a 5yr contract.

Some wacko journo in the Sydney Terror saying that the Swans should go after him as a marquee player.

Apparently on Sunday in a cafe somewhere in Sydney, Brown and his Sydney based manager are nutting out the Lions offer with two Lions execs.

Would have to give up too much to get him.

Great player but overrated. Doesn't produce his best often enough and he's not exactly durable.

That's probably the biggest question mark over him. He does seem to suffer from some fairly restrictive injuries.
