One last hurrah, Redemption - Is It Near

For weeks we sat in that 4th spot when only one or two wins would have held that position. I know I thought, and surely many of you, what's wrong with us, we'll stop this slump, we'll stand up this week surely, but we just kept losing and losing. That Bloods spirit appeared in fits and starts but not consistently.

Yesterday, confined to my bed, I heard on the radio all day that we were shot, the pundits joked about our result, who cares etc etc.

Then suddenly Pies lose, North are in big trouble and guess what things are changing very quickly.

Well maybe the doggone' Bloods can pull it out of their ass@s get a home final and create a bloody nuisance and stuff em' all!

Grant Thomas on SEN today..."I know they've been ordinary, but you cannot simply write off the Swans in the finals, I have such respect for them as a group, I believe they have one more big punch left" I like that thought......

For now I'll go with the dream...

I feel suddenly optimistic as well. not really sure why as I dont think we have a chance or a hope in hell but who knows. Lets hope the boys are pumped and can do the business tonight and we get lucky. A win tonight now will give us a home final, and a loss by either St Kilda or Adelaide will mean we will avoid The Pies in the 1st week of the finals. Cant be bothered working all the permutations out but if we win we get a home final. Time to lift boys!!!

I hope that the results so far this weekend encourage a lot of people to get along to the SCG tonight. Huge game now.

What does it matter if we end up 4th? The problems in our team aren't going to be rectified between now and the finals, no matter where we finish.

I think 4th place is a completely inaccurate indication of how our season has been - we're yet to actually beat a decent side - but I guess if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy...

No pressure boys, no it's NOT an important game tonite, we just don't care, as long as you give it your best shot, Roosey thinks you're @@@@ now anyway, but if you could score like a point more than The Lions, we would be rather grateful.

Well, if we can't get ourselves up for the game tonight, playing for a home final and even possibly a chance of 4th (still to be determined if this will be possible come gametime), then we really are shot...

Need to win tonight, need adelaide to lose (they are behind at moment) and saints to lose to grab 4th. Damn saints only having to play essendon, but never know i suppose, who would of thought port would demolish north like that?

                      Storm clouds are brewing?

Not wanting to put a dampener on things but a beautiful, sunny, warmish, nearly-spring Eastern Suburbs morning has turned into a glum, overcast afternoon. The clouds loitering over my place have a definite look of impending rain.

A surprising lack of meteorological detail from loquacious Liz?

You Sydneysiders better be going to the game tonight. Brisbane are planning to play kids, so we need to hear the Sydney chant loud and clear all night.
