    The run home

It looks to me as if we might have the ideal run home. It's finals so no games are easy (especially with the Swans' ability to make them difficult) but this looks as good as it gets. We have to beat the Roos but only them and the Saints would be ok this weekend. Then we'll most likely have to play the Dogs (presuming the Hawks win - and the Dogs are playing as badly as us recently). If we kick straight we're in with a chance there. The next round is likely to be against the Cats. Big ask but it may be better to get them when they are thinking ahead to the Grand Final.

Then we just have to win one more game and we're Premiers again. That doesn't seem so bad, does it?

The more I think about it, the more I lean to changing the way that the year is set up.
22 weeks is a long time to get to here, and then it's all over in 4 weeks.

How about Everyone plays each team once, which is fairer, and then we have the finals.
    15 weeks = 4.

Of course the AFL won't be wanting to wave bye bye to 7 weeks of takings, so I'm thinking that someone out there should draw up a new competition which can be played as a pre season.
Something that would make the current game seem like 'tests' and the new comp would be the 'one dayers'
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

I like the way you think.

      Nothing's impossible in September.

If it was Carlton, Freo and Brisbane between us an a premiership I would tend to agree. If we beat North by 4 or 5 goals I will tend to agree. Until then we have not had a significant win all season and are finals fodder. Expect this season to end not with a bang but a whimper.

We're there - and there have been a few times this season when we've showed enough. Anyway, the Blues, Freo and Lions would regard themselves as 50:50 bets against the Roos or Dogs on current form - and both of them seem ahead of us. Too bad the Pies and Crows, with their evil spell over Paul R, made finals too. And that other team that goes okay from somewhere outside Melbourne.

You'll beat WB at best but then Geelong will clean you guys up the week after.

Sure, but I think most of us will be very happy to play in a PF again, if we win next weekend. Remind me, what did the Evils do this season?

Thanks for stating the bleeding obvious.

I already have enough bang for my buck after the win last night. Not a whimper in sight, except from North Melbourne. Excited about the bulldogs on Friday - not scared.
