Pretty surprised there was no thread on this earlier. Interesting article, Roos seemingly taken his cranky pills...
Roos looks to stay on after 09

That is the best article about Roos since 2005. I was really glad to see him come out so strongly in defence of the team and the club and stick it back up the media.
GO ROOSY.Comment

Read that this morning - excellent article!Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
"[T]here are things that matter more and he's reading and thinking about them: heaven, reincarnation. Life and death are the only things that are truly a matter of life and death. Not football."Comment

And good to see a passing nod to Bird's performance - and him literally giving the Bird to the Rising Star selectors'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

God I love Roosey.
Always have.
Always will.
"I don't think we could finish on the bottom three years in a row like Carlton did. Or was it four? I certainly think, however, that we could sell a rebuilding program and philosophically, I do think we need to take some kids in the next draft.
"Having said that, I do think sometimes the draft is overrated. I think some people see it as a panacea for winning premierships but I still haven't seen a team win one from the bottom."
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.Comment

Have some of you lost your sense of humour??
I thought calling someone an idiot would be a breach of the rules here.... I found out that you cant refer to someone as a jerk. Confused.
Good luck on the weekend & may the best team on the night win, regardless of the coaches tactics, MRP decisions, extra players, teams records in finals etc etc.

Doesnt generally say a whole lot but when he does he really has a presence about him doesnt he.
Gotta say I wholeheartedly agree with his thoughts that the "bottomming out" theory is yet to be proven as the way to win a premiership. Its been said before but the one problem with this theory is that its often not the best six or eight in your team that usually win you a premiership, its the consistency throughout such that your worst six or eight are up to standard to allow you to win it.
Its geelongs strength at the moment and probably say a team of potential stars like carltons weakness.
Good to see him confirming his committment to the club.Comment

I thoroughly enjoyed the article. Refreshing to see Roos talking about a medium to long term plan for the future."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk
