I'd love to see Roos stay on for longer. The guy is a champion, and articles like that underscore why. Great to see him hit out at the grubs at Carlton after Ratten's comments on Davis earlier this year. Great read

Good luck on the weekend & may the best team on the night win, regardless of the coaches tactics, MRP decisions, extra players, teams records in finals etc etc.

I just hope Lionel Ritchie does the half time entertainment.

        In that case, sorry.

But aligning Roos' comments about Carlton with Laidley's comments earlier in the week, which was the implication, was totally off the mark.

Good article, and solid sense from Roos. He can stay as long as he wants.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Agree. And no coincidence it came from Caroline Wilson at the Age.

Sydney-based AFL reporters just don't get it. Little wonder all we get up here is daily fluff pieces churned out by the Swans' PR department.

This article has come at the end of the season, for Carlton anyway, and shows that Roos was just biting his tongue until the Blues were knocked out, and Sydney were in the eight. It just wouldn't of had the same impact if he replied at the time of Ratten's rant.

I am really glad that we have a coach who acts like an adult compared to the chilldren who run some other clubs.

That's right Kanga. If we can't beat you with the tunnel we;'ll bring on the 19th man.

And good to see Roosy come out firing. I like his Mr Cool act, but it's the time of the year to get the hobnailed boots on and lay about the critics.

But what about that guy two weeks ago who said the Swans' era was over? Didn'[t hear Roosy get stuck into him!

                        Fantastic article..
Great timing, really gives the team, club and supporters confidence in the immediate and long term future..
I really hope the team comes out firing this weekend..

I don't think enough kudos is given to teams that make the eight. I haven't seen a team win it yet from outside the eight.
                          I love you Roosy!

We'll bring a 19th man on, he'll tunnel which will lead to a play up the ground and a goal, then go off.

Kirk will be the player at the end of that passage of play, of course.

You need to read that article in the context of Caroline's radio segement last night on 3AW Sports Tonight.

She was basically knocked from pillar to post by Greg Healy and Tony Shaw by ranking Carlton and Richmond seasons as no more than a 5 out of 10.

Got to hand it to Caro, she stuck to her guns and then gave both of them a backhanded serve in the paper today by getting Roos to agree with her way of thinking.

Oh and by the way I commented a couple of days ago that if Roos goes on after this year then he won't walk away from a half completed project and will extend his contract next year.

He looks to have the fire to stick it up the Melboune Marfia again by rebuilding quickly and challenging again in two or three years time.

That is why Roos is a Champion...because as well as being a great footballer/coach, he is a thinker. Great work Roosy!!

I would love to see him as at least a decade coach for us, he understands the whole system...not just our place in it.
