Great job, well done to both of them. I'm more than happy to eat humble pie in regards to Kirk, I thought he was just about past it but he has been very good this season. I'm a huge fan of Ryan and am ecstatic to see him get the recognition.

Apart from those guys I think Jolly could have at least earnt himself a shortlist nod, a bit odd that they only opted for 2 ruckmen for the shortlist (and will presumably be true to form and name 2 ruckmen in the final 22).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Jolly's last 5 or 6 weeks probably cost him.

Oh yep, I agree he has gone off the boil a bit- I just thought his start was good enough to justify being on the shortlist. If they are going to bother to shortlist guys before they name the final list then I thought they could go at least +1 on the ruckmen.

            Yeah, I agree with you.

David Hille is the other ruckman who can consider himself unlucky.

Im a bit upset that they nominated ROK as "never previously selected" when he made AA as a half forward in 2006........

Has only had about 56% of ground time in the last few games, resting him for the finals I reckon P46 or getting some fitness into Spida, not.

I can imagine Gerard Healy at the AA selection table....he gets out of his car and the rest pile out of a mini minor juggling balls!

Still dirty about ROK's lack of prior recognition

                              All Australian Squad

The AFL All Australian Squad has been announced:

Defenders: Nathan Bock (Adelaide) Corey Enright (Geelong) Sam Fisher (St Kilda) Tom Harley (Geelong) Luke Hodge (Hawthorn) Max Hudghton (St Kilda) Luke McPharlin (Fremantle) Andrew Mackie (Geelong) Darren Milburn (Geelong) Dale Morris (Western Bulldogs) Daniel Pratt (North Melbourne) Matthew Scarlett (Geelong)

Forwards: Jonathan Brown (Brisbane) Daniel Bradshaw (Brisbane) Brendan Fevola (Carlton) Lance Franklin (Hawthorn) Brent Harvey (North Melbourne) Steve Johnson (Geelong) Paul Medhurst (Collingwood) Daniel Motlop (Port Adelaide) Robert Murphy (Western Bulldogs) Ryan O'Keefe (Sydney) Matthew Pavlich (Fremantle) Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda)

Midfielders/ruckman: Gary Ablett (Geelong) Jimmy Bartel (Geelong) Simon Black (Brisbane) Adam Cooney (Western Bulldogs) Joel Corey (Geelong) Dean Cox (West Coast) Daniel Cross (Western Bulldogs) Brett Deledio (Richmond) Lenny Hayes (St Kilda) Chris Judd (Carlton) Brett Kirk (Sydney) Sam Mitchell (Hawthorn) Drew Petrie (North Melbourne) Matthew Richardson (Richmond) Aaron Sandilands (Fremantle) Joel Selwood (Geelong).

It will be culled down to 22 names in the next few day. Remarkably, Craig Bolton was left out completely. Notwithstanding the presence of O'Keefe and Kirk, I wouldn't hold your breath that a Swan player will make the 22
