I noticed that there were alot less families at the game than usual. I really think the rain did have an affect on keeping families away as not all parents, no matter how passionate they are about their team, are willing to bring small children out in weather like that.

I flew up for it. Sat 3 rows behind the interchange bench. I was amazed at how much noise 19,000 people made!

Great night, glad I made the trip

It was a great night and one of the most enjoyable nights I have had at the footy in terms of those around me for ages but it was irritating to see so many empty seats.
One of the things I found most amazing was that on Saturday morning I went to Ticketec to buy two more tickets as close as possible to where my group were sitting. I was told there was no seats available in the immediate vicinity so we brought tickets in the adjacent bay. I was incredibly surprised then, knowing that there was no seats available, that there were about twenty odd empty seats around, which leads me to think that there were many people who actually shelled out $75 for seats, then thought it was too wet to go.

19,000 is a disgrace. What will they expect to turn up for West Sydney matches? Debacle.

You mean there is actually more than one person who will admit in public that they do that.

I'm guilty of not being there but in my defence - I arranged to go up to Scotland Island for the weekend as I didnt think we would get a home final (and getting a weekend we could all agree on prior to year end was becoming difficult - this , I thought was perfect) But I was watching the delayed telecast, with radio hearing the live feed, drinking red by a roaring fire (much to Paul Roos disgust) with best mates who I dont get to see often enough. So I braved the choppiness of Pittwater on Saturday morning to get from Church Point to the Island by water taxi - it was the longest 3-5 minutes of my life - quite nasty conditions so I reckon I have done my penance! A great game though - shame about the crowd, however I do feel that ticket prices played a part for some. But how stupid must Demetriou be??? he didnt see a problem - I swear he is the Morris Iemma of the AFL - cant there be some kind of coup to oust this clown - similar to what happened in Sydney last Friday?

I was sitting on the aisle seat (where the coaches came down) 3 rows back (pretty sure it was 3).

Didn't notice anyone over the top drinking scotch, so you're in the clear Annie

We started the match sitting next to you, but moved back two rows because the wooses sitting next to me were getting sprinkled on.

Did you see the poor bushrat supporter in front of us who bought tickets "on the interchange" ... she was a bit pissed off - it was the wrong interchange!! (She came all the way from Melbourne.)

                        Hilarious.

I missed all of that! I'd only had a few beers too, so must have just been oblivious to everything around me and focused on the game

I got polaxed (with two beers in my hand) by a security guard protecting Dean Laidley which I thought was a little bit over the top!
