    Time to stand up

Ive Posted previously McVeigh shines when we win but can go missing in the big ones (my perception only) we really need him to make an impact tonight - this is the biggest game of the year. Roos have Harvey and we have McVeigh (goal kicking MF) it could come down to which player has an impact around the ground and who picks up the odd goal.

Im still have doubts on Moore, he looked great last week but had a very inexperienced opponent and there was little pressure from Bris in our FWD 50. This will be different and a big test for Moore, if he performs tonight I'll eat humble pie and jump on the bandwagon.

IMHO Moore and McVeigh could influence the outcome by being the crumbers around Hall and Goodes - hopefully Ves comes in, we could use his pace in this role.

    Cheers

Its not just Moore and McVeigh that going missing when where being outplayed, but certainly they have showed they have the capabilities to have influence on the outcome of tonights match. Hopefully they can stand up when it really counts. Look out for Kieran Jack tonight aswell.

Dunno why you'd ever have doubts about Moore, Waz - he's been consistently among our better players and occasionally very good indeed. But tonight all your chickens came home to roost!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

McVeigh looked dead-set classy tonight. Has moved out of the Cortina class.

Kirky was best on ground because of the way he lifted the team but McVeigh had more possessions and performed better IMHO.

When Moore went back and slotted that goal in the 3rd or 4th - priceless stuff for a guy in his break out season. I was not convinced in Moore's early days but I am now.

McVeigh has moved up a class and is now an "A" not "B" grade player. His awareness is so much sharper and he delivers the ball so much better.

You can quote me later on ...

                      McVeigh is a 280Z

He has a light on his dashboard that says "GO" when all is well.

I'm so happy you made me eat my words this year Macca. I put on 10kg.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Even 23 weeks into the season I am still scratching my head wondering what happened to the tentative, fumbling, mid-paced Macca we watched during 2007. Players do have poor years, players do have break-out seasons, but I can't remember witnessing such a dramatic transformation in such a short period of time.

Might have coincided with the instruction to stop tagging and go find the ball? His role seems similar to ROK's of 2005 in that he is hunting the ball around the ground. He reads Spida taps superbly. There was one in particular where the ball up occurred really quickly and he pointed out to the western wing and started running and Spida tapped it there. I have to say, hats off to the clearance coach. He's done a good job this week.

He was one of the standouts again tonight. That third quarter in particular working in tandem with Kirk at the stoppages was unbelievable.

Really impressed with McVeighs game, probably one of his best. What really impressed me was he stood up in the first half when others where down.
I did say it could come down to who had the bigger game - Harvey or McVeigh.

                              But

Still not convinced Moore is the mesiah some of you are making him out to be. Ves & Jack are exciting every time they get the pill, IMHO Moore looks like he will be be servicable at best was missing for most of the first half. He did a few things in the 2nd half but was nothing special - no serving of humble pie for me today please

                              Cheers
