What was the second mistake? Was it when the goal umpire called that the ball had hit the post, but it looked like it hadn't?

The first one was a shocker. An absolute shocker. We were sitting in line with the goal posts and even in real time it was blatantly obvious that the ball was over the line before he got a boot to it. So obvious that I thought the goal umpire had mistaken the handball for a kick, and awarded it that way.

First mistake was Harvey been awarding a goal, the second was the miss to Wells (I think it was Wells) that was called a behind that was clearly a goal.

In the end they evened themselves out and luckily didn't have an impact on the match.

Scott, we were almost in line, 200 metres away on Level 4 and even from that distance it was clearly over.

As for the other 'miss', it was Campbell !!!!

Forgive? My arse. There were 3 of the dickheads looking straight at it: 1 goal and 2 boundary umps. Morons.

I just can't get over the ridiculous poses the goal umpires strike when the ball is coming their way. As if standing like a kung-fu douche-bag will somehow improve their decision making. Tools.

He didn't even declare it hit the post, he just called it a miss.

I agree it was over. I was just making the point of how much worse the other decision was.

Maybe you should read my post more clearly.
I was comparing the incidents. Not justifying them.

He definitely said it hit the post, well that was the signal he gave.

The goalie did indicate the North one touched the post.

The first holding the ball decision was appalling because he could not see the ball and assumed it was locked in.

The usual excuse they use for missing decisions is that they cannot see, unsighted etc, so how can they guess in that situation and keep their spot?

I thought they even mentioned it on replay, that he didn't signal a poster, just slapped his shoulder.

that's what i thought too - i'm pretty sure he just signalled that it missed the goals and he thought it was a behind (the commentators were talking about that point on the replay i watched this morning)

Ok, lets go to the video(Gotta love the IQ)...The goal umpire signaled that it hit the post after he slapped his chest to indicate that it missed. Whether it did or not is very much debatable.

Maybe the replay that alison and I saw stopped before that, or you are just wrong!!

not that i didn't believe you but i just went and watched it again - you're right .... signalled that it hit the post

i did truly believe that he just called it a behind but we were sitting up the other end last night and i was watching the replay at 7am this morning so i'll blame that!!
