& How many Vics can we take Down.?

Does the SMFC not mean anything to you?

This is club football, not state football (and I'm a New South Welshman by the way). I leave that sort of barracking to head-wobbling state premiers.

The swans don't represent anyone other than their supporters (and they come from all over the country). I love looking up at the grandstand at the Lake Oval and seeing the swans flag that is currently waving - and no, it doesn't represent NSW.

However, as there are only clubs from Victoria left, I hope they beat them all (but only because we are going to have to).

Yes, but not as much as the name SYDNEY Swans.

Let's not go through the Syd/Vic crap again. We all follow the Swans and love the club for whatever reason.

I'm a Victorian but just think of each team in the competition as another club and don't really think about what state they come from.

It always amazes me down here around finals time, that all of a sudden people want a Victorian side to win the flag - after hating the other Victorian clubs for the whole year. I don't get it. If we don't win it, I couldn't care less who does - I just want to watch good games.

          Here!Here!

When i started supporting the Swans back in the 60's, i myself lived in Albert Park South Melbourne.

I was utterly disappointed when the news came years later of when the Swans had to move North to Sydney & it took me a whole year to get used to the Fact that if they didn't move they would be no more.

I never thought of supporting any other team but the Swans,So i decided to keep supporting them for the term of my natural life.

They are now known as the SYDNEY SWANS & Sydney is in another state as we all know.DOAH!!!

Thus my reason for saying Swans are now an Interstate side with SMFC history, which i am very proud of & is probably the reason i stuck with them.

If you look at my 1st post in this thread i said Swannies against the Vics not NSW.

It's still quite relevant. Not amongst ourselves, but I heard a few conversations, yesterday arvo. "Don't like the pies, but glad the interstate team is out". They are a very moronic bunch a lot of these victorian AFL fans.

last time i checked, i had to travel interstate to get to geelong and all the suburbs of melbourne.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

It really is mind-boggling. I don't get it at all.

We had one supporter of the bankrupts who solved one mystery. Elvis really is alive and (not) so well and following the Kangas. After haraunging the Bloods supporters that we were the AFL's love child, whilst we tore his shambolic mob apart (Elvis who gives a flying toss son, look at the scoreboard). Choking back a sob and with no spring in his step at all he slurred out that he hoped the Hawks would kill youse bastards . And left the building early.

So he was tipping a Swans Hawks GF? That's the only way we can play them again this year.

And what is so wrong with a Swans Hawks GF. Just could happen.

Just whispering in the background, oink oink flap flap.

But seriously folks, it COULD happen! YAY

Well, we do represent NSW Sydney & flying the flag for the code in the last bastion of heathen culture.Even if it is a rather vague representation at times But we represent the people whose families bled for the Bloods when they were at the Lake & whose kids are excited and 100% into supporting the team as SYDNEY.

But when you consider that unless you followed WAFL footy pre-Eagles Western Australians can only see footy as 'us vs them'.

As long as Collingwood don't win this season, I can live with any of the teams remaining being premiers. Even if I'm gunning for us to get there again.
