Regardless of the result on Friday Night ...

... I'm so, so glad that we didn't go out in the first round.

Last years capitulation to the Pies was just devastating.

I'm so proud of the effort the Swans were able to produce last night after there mediocre form coming into the finals.

    A great team effort.

Yep I said to my Dad this arvo, that given our form over the last few months, any win this September is a bonus and last night was a great bonus.

Absolutely...except for Bevan of course. (Just want see how long it will take Connolly to rip me a new one)

The efforts have been there for pretty good spurts and some have been good enough to sustain some encouraging wins.

The effort for the best part of last night was right up there with Sydney's best in 2006.

The question remains, is an effort equivalent to 2006 good enough to go all the way? One would assume not.

Do our Swannies have it in them to lift another notch next week? To find our very own very good 2008 form to match the Dogs and then the Hawks?

Agree whole heartedly Scott. Even if we lose on Friday night, the experience that the likes of Jack and Vesper will gain will be invaluable come long term.

The 2nd half against the Roos perhaps allows us to once again...dare to dream!!??!!

I'll start on you before connolly does,BTW where do you want the new one ripped.

Every time Bevo touched the ball i would yell go connolly and a lot of people gave me a funny look, thinking who the @@@@ is he talking about.

SR4E looked around when she first heard me say it and laughed.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Moore, McVeigh and maybe Bird, as well.

Except for Vespas misses, didn't look like any of them were suffering too badly from nerves.

REgardless of what happens I just can't see anyone coming close to beating Geelong, so in a way I say wrap it up on Friday so we don't have to face the misery of a final against Geelong.

But........ know the thrills of 05 and 06 I want us to keep going.

I don't think we will win the GF this year, but I'm glad we're on the same side of the draw as Geelong so that if we lose to them very badly, it won't be in a GF. I reckon we have more chance of beating them in a prelim anyway.

Also, I don't think I could make it down for the GF this year and I would hate to miss it

Ditto - I was so proud of the effort on Saturday. Although when you look up the records, the only sides that have beaten the Swans in Sydney have also won the premiership.

Quick note to the players "STOP GETTING RUN DOWN FROM BEHIND & KICK THE BLOODY BALL"
2005 will live forever (or until we win another premiership)

I cant see anyone coming within a light year of Geelong, but its footy and you never know what could happen. I give us a real chance of giving them a real scare on PF day if we make it that far.

First stop the dogs though. Id love another win this week, even if it does mean a meeting with Geelong. Better to get flogged in a PF then be the team remembered for being flogged in the GF by Geelong.
"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."

A finals win is a finals win - and last night's was great.

I didn't expect any wins this year (in terms of finals) so anything that happens can only be a positive result from here. It is almost a hollow feeling when you expect your team to win (and usually leads to disappointment), so to not have to worry about those kinds of anxieties is great.

Still, it'd be nice to beat the Bulldogs.
