I dont get why people paid $75 go go to ANZ? Anyone who has been there before knows the "best" seats are about as good as the venue in general... pretty damn ordinary.

My tickets were $45 and we all had a blast! The girls wanted to sit undercover at the start but by halftime i convinced them to move down near where JF and Hatley were leading the chant (the good thing about the turnout was you could sit wherever the hell you wanted!).

Plus The Reject Shop at Eastgardens had red ponchos for $1 so we were prepared anyway.

A Swans match is what you make of it. The weather, the seats, they are just distractions at best. Go to have a good time, with good friends, and generally a good time is what you will have. I even convinced my soccer loving brother to drive down from newcastle and he said that it was well worth it.

So anyone who is using "i didnt want to pay $75" as an excuse needs to try harder at making excuses

ps - ROK you must have like a V12 Jaguar if it costs you $300 to come from Canberra?!?
pps - the storms during the EF vs Wet Toast in 04 were awesome! Didnt the lights go out on one side for a bit due to lightning, making them consider to abandon the game at half time?
If the siren sounds in Tasmania, and the umpires don't hear it, does it make a sound?

If you're buying tickets over the internet you may as well go as a junior for all anyone cares!!

when i've had to buy tickets i always buy the really cheap tickets because in 9 years i have never once been asked to show my ticket and if anyone checks it, it's only for the seat number and not the ticket type.

The best final at ANZ was the prelim against the Lions in 2003. Packed house.

There should be a line drawn between big drawing Clubs and the "others" in finals. If this game had been at SCG it would have drawn a much bigger crowd because of the threat of a sellout.

At ANZ you can decide last minute whether you go.

I think the low crowd was a good result in that it showed the AFL and other whinging Melbourne Clubs how hard the Sydney market is and why the Swans need the extra money.

I didn't see a single add last week about the game and the weather didn't help.

Unlike Victoria, Sydney is the most competative sporting code city in the world. And Demetriou hasn't clue. Roy Masters gave him the biggest bagging on the PM program tonight. Roy said its a waste of time talking to Demetriou because he is arrogant and doesn't listen to anyone from Sydney. Just the boy to grow the game up here.

I thought Roy was on the money tonight. To be honest, I generally like to read what he has to say. I don't always agree with him, especially on AFL, but I agree with him on yhe second Sydney team disaster that Vlad has coming.

Are you sure they didn't just show archive footage of Roy after someone mentioned the word AFL?

He's not really known for his balanced responses to the fairer code...

I am a Swans member and I did not go because I live in Western Australia now. I tried to book a ticket to this home final when the Swans lost to Collingwood but my Sydney friends talked me out of it as it was too risky. When it turned out we were to have a home final the flights were too expensive and I had too many assignments due at Uni. Later got apoligised to by previously mentioned friends as they wished I was there to celebrate the win with them!

I was there, unlike some other so called swans fans who were next door at the Monster Truck Rally at Acer Arena!! And the brother of my friend, the Roos fan, who it was too wet for.

We had no trouble finding seats in the dry.
I just pity the poor woman in front of me, I'm sure she wanted to smack me a few times... and she was a Swans fan!

The only reason to pay $75 at Olympic Pk is so you can get proper beer. So I did. Mind you I went looking for a pie after halftime and there were none left! The place is horrible and disfunctional but I went to the game on Saturday and had a blast. I tore up my membership at the end of last year partly because of too many games there but also things like Davisgate and almost Vespremigate and generally crap hospitality at both grounds.

I haven't read the whole thread but one thing I'd say is that if the Swans don't finish in the top 4 it's not like you Melbourne types. How many finals can we get to? Saving $200 (tickets for me and son, food, drink, transport) towards a flight to Melbourne and hotel room on the first final so maybe you can get to the the Prelim or GF if they happen (optimist!) is a real option. I had my fingers burnt last year on the trip to the Collingwood final.

I'm not sure how $6 for a new equates to proper beer?

In fact, I think new at any price is stretching the friendship - at $6 it's a comedy act.

I went to the game at ANZ and paid $75 each for 2 adults and $48.50 for my son. $200 near enough for premium seats. I am going down to Melbourne on Friday and the tickets are $63 and $43.50 for premium seats at the MCG. Much, much better ground and cheaper tickets. It must be the AFL being greedy.

Had a huge whinge to the swans today as I queued for 2 hours for the tickets for last Saturdays game and there were 30 people in the queue. Should have taken 15 minutes at most to process 30 people. Ticketmaster is truly crap and alot of people would have given up
