It was days after the death of Princess Di and teams observed a minute's silence during which one 'Dogs fan called out "F... you Plugger, you fat b......d!" Or words to that effect, which reverberated around the whole stadium.

I must have been in a different part of the ground. That was the worst minute silence - people would not shut up.

No Plugger comments that I can remember hearing, but what I do recall is someone yelling "Go J.S." at least three times over the course of the minute and then others were yelling "Shut Up!" and "Show Some Respect!" (Somehow believing that rudely yelling back at those rudely yelling was going restore a sense of solemnity ).

Mind you I did my fair share of yelling once the game started - what a disgrace that match was.
