so i get one reply im going high and giving him a seven. I thought he salvaged his season, if not his career toward the end of the year. We look better when he is fit and firing.

He looked back to his old self before the eagles game, and then came back a bit sluggish, but since micky o got injured he stepped up. He has at least one more year left.

We need to use him better, his stupidity is his issue, but the delivery to him is poor, he gets too many kicks to him that are far to far away from him. No wonder he gets angry.

He is forced wide too often and is down the ground too often. I would like to see him closer to goals more often

Really good season when he was actually playing.

I was tempted to give him a 7, but 6 seemed right for over the whole journey. Certainly in the last month has looked the like Barry we know in 2005 and 2006, but before was just struggling to find his groove after the round 4 incident and set shots have been a big demise for him. Might as well play on like Medhurst at set shots and snap a goal, he seems much more comfortabley snapping across his body lol.

As a whole the season for Hall was poor - he missed too many games (what was it 9?) through his own stupidity.

Yes, he was quite good for patches and for some games. In fact his stats look quite good, but they don't tell the full story. I don't want to see Hall play from the square - he is an average FF (particularly with his attitude).

He is not a good contested mark and gives away too many free kicks. Yes, he kicked four last night but that was typical of Hall - if he had kept leading to space and constantly competed he was capable of eight. Why would a FF in today's AFL play from behind and stop leading? All a forward needs to do is get in front lead to space (and if he is reasonably quick - which Hall is - the defender is on a hiding-to-nothing to be able to spoil) and hope that the delivery is at least satisfactory.

However he has been a very good lead-up CHF and that is where he is the most damaging. Lead-up and drop back - that is what he should do all night. Perhaps it was due to necessity (with Micky and Playfair out) that he didn't play in that spot more often.

Either way his attitude let the team down more often than it helped (both off the field and on).

            5/10

Played better footy this year than last year, improved his disposal count (avg. 13.7 in 2008 vs. 11.9 in 2007), marks (8.8 vs. 6.8), goals (2.7 vs. 2.2) but less tackles and still a high free kick against count. His marking contests have certainly improved along with consistency despite playing only 15 games. At least half the games he played this year would be considered good to great performances and he kicked at least a goal in every game he played

However, after being hyped up by Channel 10 before the Eagles clash, he KO'ed Staker with a left hook on his glass jaw and then broke his wrist and got suspended for 7 weeks (with good behaviour record). Then he took a swipe at Wakelin (who is a diver) which got him 2 weeks of "counselling" and if he did connect, he'd be fighting Hoppa for the Australian title right about now.

Hall found form, took marks and kicked goals when needed but his anger management issues have been a sour point this year for him and the Swans.

              7/10.

When he played he was excellent. Averaged something like 3 or 4 goals a game wen he played and his presence was huge. One on one he is almost unstoppable and with a bit of space he is always damaging. Tends to always slot the pressure goals when we REALLY need them. It seems when there's NO choice but to kick the goal, he'll kick it, but if we're riding a wave of momentum and his set shot will top if off, he struggles.

Like I said, 7/10. Hope he stays there-abouts next year and plays a full season.

five for me. For when he was on the park he was more then reasonable especially later in the year when I think we saw that he still can be a dangerous forward. hopefully he will stick around for another couple. If he can stay fit and stop punching people he might just have 1 really good season left in him.

5 - Actually starting playing good footy towards the end, but his undisciplined act on Staker was a disgraceful and cost the club dearly.

I wrote him off a few times this year, but I get the sense he has grappled with and defeated his demons.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Hmm, the most astute observation yet. Up till the WC game he was on fire, struggled in most games after his return, except for a few games.

I'd give him a 3. Let the team down, big time.

Once he got back into form he was pretty impressive... Had his season derailed on a cple of occassions. Had he been able to stay in the side, he probably would of been the difference in a few games we played... 8/10.. Looked like it might of beenn a 9.5 or better at the start of the season..

agreed he was good when playing... started off like a house on fire.

But let the side down twice with his actions. Unfortunately this overides the good footy he played this year (and last night, clearly our best).

7/10..Outside of the brainsnap, looked to be moving alot more freely and showed improved marking (when the midfield got the ball down to him relativly quickly), plus his ability to break the attempted tackles and either set up players for shots on goal or kick them himself.

Missing all those games through his own short fuse (I dont think he would have been so dumb to crash into the fence if he had his full quota of wits about him) in a team pro sport where u have to be accountable for all your actions was unacceptable.
He tried very hard to rectify this - well done.

I went for a 7 even when he wasnt playing that well he continued to present and work hard. After the brain snap and brain snap part 2 he worked his way back into top form, I thought he was outstanding in the last 2 games particulary when you take into account recent onfield and off field dramas.\

                              Cheers
