    Last nights crowd figure..inflated???

...does anybody else think last nights crowd figure was inflated??

Seriously, if everybody in the top decks of all the stands were made to sit together, they would have filled 5 or 6 bays max.

42K is like 2 people in every 5 seats, almost half.

There is no way it looked like every second seat was occupied. I was in the Olympic Stand, so looking at the Great Southern. For those on the far side of the ground, was the areas under my location packed to the rafters, so i missed something?

42, 000, gee that's probably the biggest crowd those 2 clubs ever drew.

As a South supporter whether home or away against the Doggies 20,000was usually the norm.

95000 capacity and the corporate boxes were all occupied, so just over 40% capacity seems about right.

Yeah i guess the corporate boxes would have made up the numbers
in the end. Always seems hard to predict a crowd at the G.

i reckon it was the AFL feeling the heat & doing an NRL & fudging the figures. There were no more than 35000 there last night, I swear.

When you consider than Melbourne Victory got 25000 to a normal A-League game down the road, you see how this finals series has been an embarrassment to the AFL.

I said early in the game that it looked like 40-odd thousand.

Fair enough, I'm no expert on MCG crowds.

All I can say that the areas under me that I couldn't see must have been chockers, because the areas I could see were very sparsely populated indeed.
