Homebush - transport is free, it takes me 10 mins to walk to the free shuttle and then 20 mins to the ground.
I don't quite get it either. Homebush is very very easy to get to, especially when there is something happening there (ie. Swans games, Easter show).

Yes there is not much else around the area, but as far as travelling to the footy goes, you have several options.

Some of the complaints on here do lack a sense of perspective and others are just plain unreasonable.

I have said this before, I have no emotional ties to the SCG and have been there several times, I have also been to Homebush a couple of times. I much prefer Homebush. Better facilities, easy to get to and away from, the atmosphere has been fine the times I have been there. I don't know what the fuss is about.

One of the many problems with Homebush is that when it is full it is full of tourists so the atmosphere is strange. When it is half full it is partly full of tourists and half empty! When it is nearly empty there are no tourists so the die-hards who really want to be there shamelessly fire up and have a good time.

I didn't re-new my membership this year partly because of too many games there knowing I could choose to go to promising games. eg the North final.

A sense of seeing your team on home turf is important. Homebush does't provide that. It could be anywhere. I don't think a western team would be wanting to play there 10 times a year.

Any specific examples or do you want to smear everyone that happens to disagree with you.

The problem with this is that PT isn't a problem for YOU. However I know that PT from some areas to Homebush is just pathetic. So it's all about perspective.

Fair enough. I much prefer the SCG. This is the beauty of the human condition we all prefer different things based on our own preferences and perceptions.

If I could sit in your seats at the SCG I'd probably love it too.

Having said I prefered Homebush, I should say that I enjoyed the game at the SCG much more when we sat with Annie in the Brewongle stand. It was much better than sitting down in the terraces.

I used to have seats in the Brewongle but when I came back from o/s I didn't like what was available so I took seating in Bay27 - I must say I vastly prefer being close to the action on game day.

True. I am a little spoilt at the SCG

It was also the first win I had seen at the SCG, and we could laugh at the people sitting in the rain, whilst it was raining Swans goals against the Tigers.

I said "Some of the complaints on here do lack a sense of perspective and others are just plain unreasonable". Perhaps you should have read the comment more carefully?

As far as specific examples go, here's something for you to think about.

I know there are Swans members who live, for example, on Sydney's northern beaches, an area not well serviced by public transport. If the Swans were to play at Brookvale Oval, it would cause me major problems to get there, but I would still make the effort without complaining. You know why? Because the pleasure of supporting the team, and seeing them play, would more than make up for the inconvenience to me in getting there.

I'm an unconditional supporter of the Sydney Swans. How about you?

You're asking that question of "Big Al", if you had a clue, you wouldn't even need to ask. Al is a very passionate supporter of our club, to question that is just plain stupid.

What is so wrong with a bit of extra travel? I love the extra travelling time to Moore Park compared to Homebush simply because it just gave me more time to socialise with mates on the way to and from. The travel there isn't as grave as many make it out to be!
