Our best player (or very close to it) against Carlton, Adelaide and North.

Among our best against the Bulldogs (in Canberra) and I thought he was one of the few who contributed anything against Collingwood.

Quiet against Fremantle, the Bulldogs (SF) and Geelong.

All of that after an outstanding 15 weeks. You're a very hard marker Blood.
His 3rd quarter against Carlton was equal to if not better than Kirk's 3rd Q against North. ROK willed himself to win that game.

8 for a whole season rating.

Only missed 1 game, and despite reported illness was on ground for 95% of the time on average. In 1 game played 81%, otherwise 91% to 100%, which is extraordinary for the running he does.

As good a mark as anyone in contested possessions.

        8/10

Another good year for ROK. Played a bit more in the midfield compared to previous years, up in disposals (avg. 19.6 in 2008 vs. 17.6 in 2007) but down in marks (4.9 vs. 5.3) and tackles (3.0 vs. 3.6).

Had some great performances against Brisbane, Western Bulldogs twice, Richmond, Carlton and Adelaide and got more than 25 disposals on 6 occasions but he had a few quiet games when he was beaten in the forward line and midfield quite convincingly.

I'd expect him to stay in the midfield more next year.
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore

          5/10

Disappointing as a senior player. Needs to have more influence and impact than he showed IMO. There are too many flat spots during games and from week to week.

Agreed again. Perfect summation. Other than Ablett and Franklin, pretty much no-one dominates every single week. I reckon the AA captain, Judd, had about as many low-influence games this year as ROK.
All @@@@ flying around in the melbourne media about Buddy and Judd is making me puke ATM.I'm sick of hearing their names.

On Judd as AA captain its a bloody joke.Judd was pretty quiet on a number of occasions.

If they truly want to pick an All-Australian side why dont they wait till all the clubs best B+F's are done and take the 16 winners and the next best 6.

IMO Rok was a little stiff to miss out on the AA.

Good season - with limited help in the forwards

BBBH not there for half the season, Nick Davis out most of the season and revolving door of newbies... This must cause the Swans forwards to be out of sorts.

I believe he kept us in more games than not.

Missed AA but was in the top 40

I voted a 7/10 however on reflection 8/10 (Mods can change if required / possible)

Gees I'd hate to stay Ryan go. If there was anyone after Kirk who played beyond the dodgy Bloods code it's O'Keefe. He just has a problem shaking hard taggers cos he's not a faker. As shown against the Dogs. Copped a hard one on the chin, a quick snarl at the ump but then he just got on with it.

Better than 2006? I think he was far better then.

Yeah, because I think he really had to stand up this year. In 2006 we had a lot players at their peak and two genuine superstars in Hall and Goodes, so I don't there was as much pressure on him to perform.

This year (and last for that matter) there was a lot more pressure on O'Keefe, as Hall and O'Loughlin missed several matches and Goodes battled injuries and poor form.

His 2006 stats probably read better but he just about carried us in a few games this year. The guy is an absolute gun and I can't work out why anyone would want to knock him.

At any rate, I gave him an 8. A very solid season overall. No player is going to be dominating every week, but his flat ones were more noticable than most - perhaps because he was so good in the other games.

I rekon it was a could of, should of ,sort of year with Rhino.
Played some rippers along with some shockers.

Does he really want to be with the Swans as well ????
Essendon will start to circle shortly, with Lovett in hand .

I hope he stays and does a Luke Power and stick fat and be part of the younger brigade that hopefully comes through.Place him high in the leadership group give him responsibility. At the same time though at 28 and with the new clubs coming in he is one of the few we have that we can secure a long term deal with so it cannot be thrown out the window, though would hard to watch him running around with someone else.
Have it on good authority for Rhino to go to Bombers
It will be Lovett and a 2nd Round pick.
